Has anyone installed an after market head unit in a third gen?

That should be what you need. Not sure if they preflash it or not. If not you need a weblink cable and account

 

I have a Pioneer AVIC-6100 nex hu. It's got built in nav, android auto, etc. Solid unit for a while, but it's 3 years old now and is getting slightly glitchy. Phone randomly disconnects occasionally and won't reconnect until next start of the vehicle, left channel going out, etc

Try a software update? Dunno may help?

It's a little gimmicky I know, but I like the fact that the speed limit (and if I remember correctly, the street name as well) is on the dash from the head unit. Does the Maestro retain this feature as well? I'm looking to get any head unit that will bring more clarity to the sound so if that's a casualty then so be it. This JBL sounds like the speakers are underwater.

 

Dropped the Alpine Halo in mine about a year ago and love it. CarPlay, external accessory controls, looks super clean.
