Indiana must have just recently changed theres. My understanding was that states that do NOT require you to take an 8hr cwp class do not honour a sc permit.
When I had my cwp in indiana 96-2001, they did not require a class. Basically you just went to the county pd. Filled out a short form and recieved your permit in 30-60 days. For instance georgia doesn't require a class correct?

    Great info guys.

It would seem to me that it would only be polite and smart to inform the officer at your window that there is a loaded weapon in your vehicle.Far better for him/her to be informed than to have them find out by surprise.

no it has nothing to do with that...have you ever seen someone murdered?? i have....http://www.news4jax.com/news/13690998/detail.html

i ran over why the guy was still shooting to help..i had never owned a gun(i wasnt anti-gun) but it definitely was an eye opener as to why you should be armed you never know when you need it.....

GA doesnt not require a class we will honor SC though....but only if yall will honor our permit(Thanks NRA for making sure we didnt get reciprocity:mad:)...do and hopefully never will....do you have to take a class before attending church or pay a fee to buy a newspaper? you should definitley get your PA permit from Centre County before next year cause in 2011 youll have to appear in person to get a PA non resident....

I feel much more comfortable now with conceal carry. I barely even notice my G19 in my Tuck N' Go, except when I have to ensure it is still concealed and keep my pants up (heavy gun with 15 rounds).

My method of concealing in my Taco involves placing my G19 in the center console. I wish I had a setup where I could clip it on like an earlier poster. I just bought my Taco and I'm not big on modding it much :). Another conceal method was noted earlier, with their XD being mounted next to their leg next to steering wheel column.

On another note, please refrain from badmouthing law enforcement and LEOs likewise please refrain from fueling the antagonists' fire.

I roll around nowadays with my gun case behind the front seats...which contains a Savage 111 7mm WinMag and a Mossberg 500 Tac Turkey. Ammo is located in an old wooden Russian 7.62x39mm ammo box, which sits on a back seat. I have yet to need a pistol.

My last 2 interactions with the police were for speeding. The officer was at my window for maybe 30 seconds asking me for my license and registration he walked back to his vehicle for a few moments upon his return he was at my window long enough to say have a nice day and hand me my license and ticket and walk back to his vehicle. I do not know at what point I would announce that there is a loaded weapon in the vehicle. Do the police spend more time conversating with you? Here in GA they seem to be all business, I am not required by law to announce that to them. Now if they asked me I would provide that information.

    Deer hunting with the rifle.
Turkey, goose, and duck with the shotgun. I am also on the UVM Shooting club/team so I use it for clays as well.
