It's confusing to a newcomer who vists that page trying to find info on it. It really doesn't help that it's one giant cancerous red blob of gibberish. He could really stand to organize that first post better for how popular the topic is.

and that's on stock tires. always new 5.29s would perform perfectly fine on stock 31s. thank you toyota for the 5th and 6th aka overdrive gears.

Phew, 126 pages that took a while. Glad I found you guys and this thread, so much great info here.

Basically what it's coming down to is my '19 OR is stock and I already dislike how it drives after 15k miles, enough to want to regear before virtually any other major modification. I'll likely run with the stock tires until they wear out before going to 33s, but glad to see people regearing to 5.29 in stock form and not saying it's too much right off the bat. At the end of the day modifications are for the long term so I don't want to mess around with considering 4.88s because I plan on installing bigger tires (265 on 17in wheels, don't want to go 285 in AZ) and already have a GoFastCamper on order. I think for now I'm really only left with two main questions:

-Anyone have experience getting regeared in the Phoenix area outside of going to Zuk? I don't have the time to pull the pumpkins off as it's my daily driver, and personally have read and heard first hand of enough people being displeased with SDHQ that I'd like to avoid them as well (unless their quote comes in low in comparison to others).

-Has anyone done cryo on gears locally to Phoenix as well? I feel like if I'm going to toss them in for long term use, I might as well have them coated anyways for peace of mind.

Lol might could be, but I think they're right. 1,000 extra lbs is a lot of weight. Definitely going to want the 5.29's

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Not bias, all are in the same boat as you.

I did the research, bought 5.29s.

Would I do it again, yes.

Thanks, being on 33's I wasn't sure but most signs are pointing towards 5.29's. Appreciate it!

Saw that too but I'm on 33's not 35's. Seems like everyone loves their 5.29's though even for 33's so think I'll go that route :muscleflexing:

Pretty sure nitro gear on the site has an RPM conversion table. Joe has put it in this thread too from a jeep forum you can check it out. Don't get scared off by the numbers. This is a high revving engine not your daddy's diesel from 1976.
