Last Thursday it rained hard and I discovered a leak on the passenger front. I’m debating if I should use right stuff or just a regular silicone sealant.

any suggestions for those who had this issue would be great.

    I have a 2010 tacoma

Get some 3M strip caulk, pull the plastic cowl cover and you'll see on the passenger side a "U" channel. Press the caulk into the back of the "U" channel (it only runs the length of the fresh air inlet) and reinstalled the cowl. You'll have to press it with a firm hand to get the clips back in and line up. It works, ask me how I know. Mine leaked after a windshield replacement and the portion of the cowl that seals against the windshield gets deformed. The caulk creates a secondary barrier and will solve your issue.

Pull the cabin air filter out.
If it’s wet, it is likely from the cowl area as Jeff said.
If not, get a garden hose and start looking.

Yep.. filter’s wet. I’ll order some
yep.. it sure is the filter is wet when I inspected it today. I looked at 3M caulk strips and they’re $27 bucks

Cheaper than a new blower motor and sorting out shorted electrics.
