Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

@OVTune whst is the status on VFTuner keys? My recollection is that you produce these yourself as opposed to through a third party and you stated that they would all be sent out this weekend. I have not yet received my key. Order #6190. Thanks.

 

I have not finished getting them all made, as there are so many at the moment. I'm working on it

Lol my time frame is this currently
4/7 ask what I need to do if I bought a tuner of a member
4/9 get a response
4/17 sent message with pic of serial number on tuner
4/17 got invoice for vF upgrade and license, paid for said stuff
4/18 sent over request for registry file

no response yet and haven't gotten anything regarding the vFTuner

on the website they say 1-3 days, here Matt said up to 5 days and then he said they were super slammed with zendesk tickets

So I figure quiet for 2 weeks is probably going to be normal, Im just worried what is going to happen when they do the release on May 1st

 

We should be able to get everyone waiting up and running before May 1rst.
part of the delay is the current influx, we haven't got dongles back from some of you guys requesting, we have not gathered the current dongles in the PO box since a few days ago, and dev holiday

I kept my dongle and paid the $79 for the VFtuner . I already got my Master key for the VFtuner . Is this the only key/license I will need to flash with the VFTuner software once it is released ?

Same tune for me, all stock. Confirmed it goes into 6th even before 60 mph.

 

No, not based on the info Mat has provided. Because the vFTuner will not produce files compatible with the Dongle and pcm Flash.
In addition, you cannot load any of the 2.0+Final+Test versions or the 2.0+Final+Final version using the Dongle and pcm Flash.
Without your p5f key you're dead in the water.

 

That is my understanding as well...VFTuner still requires P5F to flash your custom file.

22. What if we have a dongle version kit? Nothing changes, although if you want vF Tuner you will need to use vF Tuners flash software. It is not compatible with dongle software.

I chose the $79 offer . I already have the master key , i just want to know if there is anything else I have to do . I followed the email directions and did not download the software as it said to wait until May 1st.

I will have to wait to hear from Mat . I followed the instructions on page 1 . From the first 2 links you posted I read it that I will not ever get another PCM file . The new software uses its own flashing software so it does not matter . I ordered and paid for the software on the day the link was posted and I received the email with the master key 2 days before the last link you put up was written . I cannot believe Mat would send me the $79 option master key if I could not use the VFtune

The instructions he sent with your VFTuner key (page 16-17), shows how to launch the flash tool from VFTuner. The flash tool in that set of instructions show the P5F registration process. Looks like we need clarification if he plans on providing those registration keys if a dongle wasn't turned in.

If you did not have a dongle to send in, and paid your $79 you *should not* need a new reg file. P5F in VF should work exactly the same as the stand-alone one that was used with Flash Manager.

If you bought for $79, and were an OG dongle user you keep your dongle. You will have to submit a ticket with your System ID to get your P5F reg file.

If you had a dongle and chose the $0 option, you need to send it in and then request a P5F reg key.

At least that's how I understand it happening. Again, to reiterate, restate, reinforce, redundantly, again..... Mat and Rafael are swamped with zendesk tickets right now and get reg keys back in batches. If you already have a request in, they will get back to you as soon as they can. Give it 7-10 days or so from when you first requested before checking in. VF hasn't even officially launched for the Tacoma yet.

 

Thankyou . I did not do anything with the links because it said to wait until the Tacoma was released . I thought since it said wait , there would be a different download when it is released .

 

I think you got your vFTuner email with the vFTuner key the same day I did.... the 23rd. I sent my Dongle back on the 17th, and I don't have a p5f key yet. I don't believe I have the capability to load a p5f file without that key, but I have not installed vFTuner and tried to use it to flash one of the 2.0+Final+Test tunes. Maybe someone else can chime in if they have actually attempted to do that?

 

It looks as if I better download and see if I can do what ever is necessary to get the files I will need to send in , so I get in line . Another thing I am not sure about is that the new software is not supposed to be tied to any specific computer . Why would it want the file that a specific computer generates ? This is why I kept the dongle to begin with . I should have just waited until it is all released because Mat said it will all be clear at that time .
