    I am thinking about purchasing a Gen 3 2020.
Just like to know if the air conditioning is better than Gen 2. Also, did they fix the window Kazoo noise?

I think it’s pretty good. I’ve had both, set it and forget it dual zone climate control and regular controls. They both work well and keep me cool. I’m a very hot natured guy.

it's good if you're in the front. If anyone is in the back seat it's awful

I'd say the AC in the 3rd gen is good, maybe not outstanding. A couple of years ago I had to sit idle in I think it was 116 temperature, for over 25 minutes, trying to keep a dog in back seat cool. White 17' DCSB OR w/ the sunroof, tinted windows, it kept it acceptable, maybe not frosty cool, I had the AC on recirc., temp set as low as it goes, and fan on max. As soon as we got rolling again it cooled down, felt fine.

3rd gens use a new refrigerant. I'd say it works great. Most of the time I have mine set to '1' on fan speed and it's plenty cool inside.

Doesn’t seem to work well at extreme desert temps, tendency for mildew, otherwise fine

There is a TSB for desert heat & A/C not working btw

I live in Tampa, Fl where it gets hot and humid. The 3rd gen a/c works wonderful and cools down quickly.

Good point. There is no condenser fan on these trucks (1st and 2nd gens didn't have one either). Can become a problem when sitting in traffic/idling for long periods in 100+ degree weather.

It hasn't been an issue on mine though. My compressor cycles on fan speed 1 even with outside temps over 100.

When I first got my truck it saw high idle times. I was on top of a parking garage in AZ idling for 6-7 hours at a time. AC wasn't cold, but it was better than standing outside.

Don’t know about the 2nd gen, but it’s more than acceptable in my opinion.

I live in Texas and am very happy with the a/c in my 2017. My girls mom says the back seat cools off quicker than most; I've never rode back there however.

My 19 works good, not the absolute coldest vehicle I've ever owned but it is good. Dogs in back cool off fine too, they all seem to get excited and pant at first, unless it's the middle of winter.
No kazoo, not sure what you're referring to

The Kazoo noise sounds like one of those party horns that roll out when you blow it. Really bad on my 2015. Happens with high cross winds.
