Hidden Lightbar Worth It?

If you’re looking for things to do, heated seats could be nice in those PA winters too, unless your truck has them already.

Define worth it?

I searched for months on a deal for a Rigid e Series pro 30” led bar and installed with the lower caliraised hidden bracket. Install was easy, but I did retain the plastic air dams and that required some extra work. All in all I am very happy with the bar and bracket. I don’t go off-roading, but you never know when you’ll need some extra light.

So, in my case, is a $700 flashlight worth it? It puts a smile on my face, so yes it is.

 

Has anyone done the diode dynamics 30" bracket with a different light bar. As much as I'd like to buy the bar from them, its not in my budget. I'd likely try to get a decent cheaper version. I think the caliraised look great but I don't want to cut or remove the deflectors.

 

What is your lower light bar here? I really like it!

 

This looks great! did you have to remove any of the original grill to install, or did you just mount it behind the OEM? Thanks!

 

Just the grill and 2 plastic air dams. I elected to modify the air dams and keep them in place. Install was very straightforward after watching the caliraised video. The light is so damn bright it lights up the entire neighborhood.

 

would it be possible to install caliraised without mod like you can with the diode dynamics bracket?

 

I believe the diode dynamic requires you to cut out the valance and have it exposed. I did not want to cut the valance, nor did I want the light exposed for possible theft.

 

The video I saw didnt show any cutting and didnt require removal of the air deflector either. I dont know if its cause the light bar is a 30 and not a 32.

I used to run a KC 30” on Rago brackets and really liked it. Sold it when I got my bumper and the new owner still really likes it lol

 

I never saw that bracket while doing research. Looks good and does not require cutting.

edit: I saw the bracket is back ordered by 3-4 weeks. Eek

 

Im not in a rush to get it installed. Id rather take my time and do the research. im just having a hard time finding a budget 30" bar that is also decent quality. a good price to performance balance.

 

Thanks! Did you purchase the "Combo Beam" or the "Spot Beam"? Do you know the difference? Also, this is street-legal, right?

 

I too had the same issue. The kc c series led bar was $375.00, but the reviews were mixed. I figured rigid supplied the OEM fogs on my pro, so if it’s good enough for Toyota it’s good enough for me.

I located the model I wanted and researched all over for it. I put the model number (1300313) and found it on Amazon for nearly 50% off. I paid $565 for the led, which I thought was an amazing price.

 

spot/flood combo. It’s “off road” use only. It will blind people.

 

A combo beam pattern is a combination of a spot beam and flood. The outsides of the white LEDs have flood reflectors, and the center of the bar is spot LEDs, which makes for a nice overall throw of the light. A spot beam does not have the flood reflectors, so it is best for very concentrated, long-distance light projection. I would say 95% of our customers go with the "combo beam".

I think the odds on a 30" being street legal are slim. They usually exceed the output limit for an auxiliary driving light. You might get by with two 12". That's my ultimate plan... need to figure out how to mount two DD 12" like they do their single 30"
