Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Either I cross threaded the belt back on after all the new pulley swaps or it was just time for it to go. I heard a weird slapping sound then killed the engine. I found where 2 of the 5 belts were broke. I really wanted to get home though so I cut them off with my wife then tried limping home. I saw the alternator light come on then lost power steering. I got to an off ramp then pulled over but the damage was done. The belt snapped and wound itself up behind the crank pulley and probability pushed the seal back into the case more than likely. I had a new belt and replaced it on the side of the road after getting the SC stuff out of the way. When I fired it back up, there was oil pouring, not weeping out from behind the crank pulley. I dumped in enough oil to get about ten miles to the closest dealership spraying for mosquitos and freshly reecoating the bottom of my truck.

    Any pipe cutter will do.

I think I used one made by Rigid. It took a while and I had to lubricate it in the process to make sure I didn't damage anything, but it worked.

Oh, don’t thank me man. We’re all super stoked and extremely lucky to have you interested in this platform. So, thank you.

And, to be clear. I/we luv ya. My engine? Less so. (Lots of redline action in 100°+ heat today) It’ll be fiiiine tho.

I have a Husky copper pipe cutter from homo depot. But any pipe cutter will do. Oil and patience are required.

I need to drop the tank to do that fuel pump. How long do you think that’s going to take to swap in new fuel pump? I hear it’s a big lain but not too hard.

@jpark4 not sure if you were still looking for this, sorry for the late reply. I used the no weld bung. Kind of a pain to drill with the exhaust still on the truck, but I made it work. Make sure you vaccum/magnet out all the debris when you're done. I did put wire loom on the harness after the pic was taken. IMG_20200425_005650.jpg

I was reading instructions for drilling into a diesel exhaust, and they reccomend turning the truck on and letting it idle while drilling. The pressure will blow all the shavings out towards you.

If you're doing it post cat, with that adapter, don't even worry about the shavings.

    It's DLX son!
It wasn't nearly as painful as removing the tank on a first gen. The urd instructions are good in terms of getting it out of there. I waited until my fuel light came on to make things lighter.

I spent three hours start to finish, drinking beers and really taking my time with the modifications to the fuel bucket.

Used a small carbide bit to cut partway into the outside of the bucket for the zip tie holes, then finished making the holes with a exacto blade heated up with a torch.

Large floor jack with a 2x6 was fine for lifting/lowering, you don't need the tranny jack.

Link to urd instructions? I know I need to modify some but wasn’t sure.
