I don't think it needs to much written up. It's all there. The lines just explain it plugs into it. You just hook it all up and you get all the features. Everything is labeled. If you want to do the Apple route, you just swap out the Chromecast. Just shoot me a message and I can help you get it going.

will you be making the 2020 kit available without front camera included? I have oem front camera so hoping that will work but understand may need to wait til you have unit in hand to test this.

    stoked either way, thanks!

Almost all my parts are in now. I have the Taco Garage package, the Natika camera, the Echomaster PCAM220. All that is left is for the RCA connectors, relays, and switch to come in and then testing can begin!

Absolutely will take pictures. I'm super stoked about how this will turn out. Hopefully I didn't miss any parts and can hook it up right away.

Mine showed up today (pretty darn quick. Said it would be here Wednesday day)
So if anyone is as crazy as me and retrofitted a Toyota 86 radio into an older Toyota, this system functions perfectly (assuming you have steering controls of course.) the wiring is tight in the back, I may dig through my harnesses and find connectors and make my own harness to condense things. But it all works as designed. Just waiting on a logo front camera to show up, as of now I just have a black screen for front

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Image is from the rear, but hooked up to the front feed to test.

Well, I'm dumb... I forgot a fuse tap, fuses, and connectors... Guess I will ghetto it up somehow by tapping and soldering to my other non-OEM wiring...

No way, man... go get you some fuse taps, fuses and connectors. You have a lot going on and you don't want any issues to be caused by "ghetto[ing] it up!" LOL

Actually, I think I got it. I will tap off existing self added switch for switch power, and solder the ground to an existing ground as well. The rest will be as follows:
    IMG_20200505_160800.jpg
Everywhere there is a spool will be a solder and heat shrink location. Anyone have any critiques?

@FreshMexicanTaco is there any way to get spare harnesses only? Just curious before I try to make my own condensed harness. I don’t want to ruin the original harness that came with the unit incase I ever decide to replace my headunit or what not

if not no big deal, looks like they used connectors at the unit from a Toyota.. I’m sure I have connectors somewhere at work

Trace back my posts in this thread. It’s possible to use the 2nd Meso switch, but you have to wire it through some latching circuits. That was really only to get multiple cameras. But... this wouldn’t bypass the need for the mode switch. The only way to do that would be to understand which wire in the harness carries the momentary back to the head unit and whether it’s a ground or signal. You’d have to splice into that wire. That’s all theory on my part though.

Yes I understand now. Someone asked about something similar in another thread recently also. I posted there a solution that I think should work. But it will require a bit of legwork to determine which wires to connect to.

After cutting and splicing all the RCA camera cables and some testing with a 9V battery, it seems to work. Next step is to wait for the weekend so I can wire it all up in the truck for actual testing.

Hooking up one of the RCA to the relay latches
    IMG_20200506_123143.jpg
Hooked up both RCA signals to the relay latches and combined the ground/returns together. Did a connectivity test on the signal and returns with the relay on and off via 9V battery. All works so far.

List of things remaining to do:
-Hook up switch for relay (splice to existing non -OEM wire for power. Solder ground to existing non OEM wire. And switch to relay)
-Ground relay (maybe solder to existing non OEM ground if I'm lazy)
-Plug it all in and hope it works...
