Hi, I want to tap into my 12 VDC + battery power - but hate to put it to the battery terminal or the Starter Solenoid. I want to stay under the hood as well ... Any gurus out there know of a nut /post I can tap on to under the hood ? Some where near the top of the Drivers front fender - power box area??? I Need to add 12v power for a "trailer adapter power" and + 12V for trailer. Need to run 12 AMp wire from + to rear bumper area. Thanks !!

You don't have the trailer adapters on the bumper with a 7 pin? Pin 4 Black is 12v power on a 7 pin.

My 2020 SR has nothing. Blank cover for trailer plug. I need to add an adapter for the Trailer - but now these need battery power as well as hook up to lights. NOT installing e brake stuff ...

I don't know what the max current is on a 7 pin adapter, but if that will suffice, you can probably find the wiring harness and plug kit. Would be the easiest and cleanest way if that will support your power needs. Otherwise I would also recommend adding a fuse right off the battery. If you need acc power and not full time, you would need a relay as well.

WoW talk about threads !!! Thousands or replys. I'm just looking for a +24 Stud to connect to for power. My wires already have in line fuses ...

Why don’t you want to connect it to the battery? If you’re not going to add a fuse block then that’s the next best way to do it. There’s no other place to connect to for power unless you tap into an existing circuit but then you have to worry about overloading that circuit.

I'm old school and have had many issues over my 40+ years of driving and fixing cars. I've had many issues with the Battery connectors and cables (loose, dirty, Corroded, acid in cables, etc. etc. ) . If at ALL possible I do not want to add 2 wires to the connector at the battery ...

Buy one of these Blue Sea fuse blocks, mount it on the fender somewhere by the battery, connect it to the battery with 4ga or bigger wire and then you will have a proper accessory fuse block you can use for your trailer hookup and anything else in the future.

So then do it the right way with a fuse block haha. doesn't matter if your wiring already has fuses. you can still use the fuse block and have two fuses or use the fuseblock and bypass the inline fuse.

If you've had multiple problems over the years and you're over it, do good work, don't take short cuts
