Looking for insights on spc upper control arms with an OME setup, especially if anyone is running them on a regular cab with 880s (which is probably a long shot) - which position do y’all run the spc ball joints in?

my uca bushings are shot and I figure if I’m going in there anyway now’s a good time to upgrade

Should 882s be fine for a 100lb bumper?

OME 881 springs with 3/8 spacer. SCS SR8 16x8 Gunmetal 285/75/16 Yokohama G003 Nitros all 4 corners. Dakar rear leafs. Deckplate mod. Marlin Crawler 1200lb clutch. Redline hood struts. ECGS clam shell bearing. Philips LED headlights. Front Runner bed bars. Katskinz leather interior.
I wouldn't think spc UCAs would be necessary with 880 springs.

@Nevin Probably true. I suppose that money would be better spent on a press and tools to swap the oem uca bushings myself. Just looks like a pain in the ass and the spc arms would be a good thing to have if I move to different springs or coilovers down the line

FWIW I run 883 springs on my DC with stock bumper for the past 2 years fine. CV angles are not harsh. Does ride like a wagon tho lol

    Stock right now.
Just ordered my OME kit! I read through just about every page on this thread. Decided to go with 881 coils.

Does anyone know if front ome struts are same length as stock or 5100s?

I just put energy suspension bushings in my stock UCA’s. A few minutes with a map torch and the old rubber falls out. Clean the residue with Emory cloth or wire wheel. The new bushings start easily by hand, but I used my bench vise to glide them in fully. No special tools needed.

Wonder why everyone else uses a press for the job. Maybe @timmah will chime in, I know he used a 20 ton press in his video on uca bushings

He replaced with OEM, which require you to press out the old rubber with the shell and press in a new one.

If you do poly then it is easy, at least for the ES bushings

yup! LCA are a pain in the ass no matter what, but the ES UCA bushings were really easy.

Yeah, I just put in replacement lcas a few months ago. Was gonna swap to poly bushings but fucked one of the control arms up pretty good. Running napa lcas for now

I might track down a replacement oem arm eventually and swap them back in but it’s not a job I’m looking forward to

Im in a similar spot, had to chop out my old LCA’s, which destroys the metal bits that the ES bushings need, so I ended up with mevotech supreme LCA’s in a pinch.

I kept my oem LCA’s for now in case I want to rebuild them, but I really would rather not go through tearing it apart again without a damn good reason.

Were you able to buy this from Wheelers? I tried to order this same kit today from them, but kept getting a server error message on the website when I went to checkout. I called a couple times, first time it just range and range, second time it said the line was no longer in service. Weird. Just ended up ordering it from Cruisers.

No I didn’t. So far i haven’t experienced any of the issues you mentioned. Hopefully I don’t when I do pull the trigger.
