vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

we are continuing to send and process reg keys.
I have picked up remaining packages as of today. Not that many.

So, to be sure you have / will get your key, make sure you have followed these steps.
1. You have purchased your copy of vF Tuner (free for dongle trade)
2. You have sent your dongle usb back to us.
3. You have sent us your registration information to our zendesk 1 time.
4. You are not confusing the registration key (a FILE) with your Master key ( a CODE, example: FLKSD-SLFJLSD-ALKW-34131)
5. If you are a FLASH KIT OWNER, and previously have already registered for flash manager, you DO NOT NEED a new reg key UNLESS you are using a different computer.
6. If you sent us your Dongle usb with no information about who or where it came from, it is effectively "non existent."
7. If you ordered with a different name, or other information that cannot be identifiable, then we cannot confirm you.

 

Any further updates on the voltage testing and will this be included in 2.0f as an option?

 

No other voltage testing is needed. It works, and is included and available.

This option will not be in 2.0 final. But you can take a 2.0 final map and add the necessary voltage you need to it

 

That is what I am planning on doing, cant wait for this puppy!

REQUEST: I have never done any tuning before (only used TechStream to turn my seatbelt alarm off ) - and I'm really not interested in much. HOWEVER, some of us have spent a ton of money on AGM batteries which require like 14.x volts for charging - i know it's been popular in this thread.
Can someone make a comprehensive walkthru from start to finish with how to only address the alternator voltage output? From purchase to changing values - It would be much appreciated.

OVTune created a test tune and posted it for download in this thread. That test tune had all the tweaks needed to adjust alt charging voltage. If you have the software, you can open the stock tune and that test tune and see exactly what was changed. I did this a few days ago and I think there are ~6 areas where values have to be changed.

OV is trying to tech us how to fish instead of catching us fish. It looked pretty straight forward to me. I’m just waiting for the tune packs to get released before I make the changes. Only vF tune available now is a stock tune.

if a vF user creates a file that works they can share it with you. You'll just need vF Tuner to flash it

 

The only way you will be able to get that Bass is to buy the fishing pole and associated tackle... The good news is that you can catch the other fish with it once you have it.

 

Did you buy the software and haven’t installed it yet, or have no plans to buy the software? If you just want the tune and don’t plan to buy the software, you’ll have to find someone locally or go to someone with the software that has your ECU unlocked (04B04 by your profile description). If they have the tune they can flash it to your truck. Maybe for free of maybe they’ll charge you for the tune, I’m guessing most will charge to recover the cost of the software and time.

 

We should have 2.0 out and done here very soon.

After that we start release of >
patch functions and patch version tunes in vF Tuner (Features we have already developed...Gear lock tuning. Map switching)
and more fun stuff.


We have over 350 vF Tuner users in the very short time since release so I think you guys will cook up some really cool tunes soon!

No, i have not purchased anything yet - i know i'll be dropping some dough.

I do plan to purchase whatever things i need to make this happen. I have a solid pc background so installing and configuring things even with regedits doesn't really phase me. I just don't want my $30k toy to become a brick

I'm waiting for a comprehensive, stupid-proof guide from all you smart people on this forum. I wouldn't expect @OVTune to necessarily do it, but hopefully someone on the forum would consider it.

 

Well you can't brick your ECU, so no worries there. But you can damage your truck if you do go wild on the maps.

the vF tuner user guide is actually pretty comprehensive about how to use the software. There just isn't a tuning guide yet.

We will be making tuning guides, because we have to make guides of how to properly tune our custom coded stuff.

 

Roger that - I really hate to sound this simplistic, but i don't care about all the other cool stuff i can do - at least not at the moment. I just want my batteries to 100%!
