HA!! we had opposite experiences. Nice HU choice. My Kenwood (DMX905S) with a Metro RR went in this weekend. My kit was for the 2015 (20 pin) and would not fit the 2013 (28 pin). At the moment I have no steering wheel controls, but I do have the OBD to the HU. Should have the right connector here in a day or three. Scosche dash kit fits perfectly. You'll dig it.

I haven't found anything to be as accurate to running the numbers at each fill up. Including a tire size factor.

Every vehicle I have owned, or my wife has owned, has over estimated the MPG's. I am interested to hear if the Ultragauge is accurate.

Turn on only the driving lights, take a test light and probe each terminal on the harness side of the plug till it lights up? Should take 30 seconds max.

Clay bar the wind shied FTW! My brother told me to do that a few weeks ago. I had never thought of it. IMO it helped. My glass had never been so clean since it left the factory.

I do hood, windshield and roof (horizontal surfaces) annually and the sides and tailgate every other year.

Add some rain-x after the clay bar and be prepared to have mind blown! Don't even need wipers. :D

You know...I'm 47 years old, have driven various 4X4 trucks my whole life, 1 tons, 3/4 tons, Toyotas, gas and diesel, and I don't think I can ever recall a single time of checking my MPG, much less at every fill up. Just curious, what are you looking for that requires you to check that much?

You're fooling yourself… Because of the Halogen housing the LED is appearing brighter by flooding the short distance and not having light further down the road where you actually need it to see the those animals. When I bought my truck the previous owner had installed LED headlights. I did the ultimate H4 upgrade and the difference is unbelievable, by far my favorite and most worthwhile upgrade.

I don't think it's just wanting something else to bitch about. There is empirical data (very well presented) that demonstrates that the headlight solution you have chosen isn't the best to achieve your desired results, and it has the potential to negatively impact other drivers. The guy who presented that data isn't some rando internet board guy, he's a guy who does this stuff for a living, and has the credentials and tools to back what he says.

I get it, you're committed to your purchase, and your perception of it...others pointing out that your perception isn't necessarily the reality of the situation isn't you being picked on, or others bitching, it's just something you don't want to hear.

Makes no difference to me, I don't have LED or the ultimate upgrade...I live way out in the country, and dodge wildlife regularly, and I just turn my ditch lights on, and keep my finger on the switch in the event of oncoming traffic. Each to their own, but I find my board experience is better when I dial down the sensitivity and try to take in the information presented with as little bias as I can.

I've only used the Mothers Clay Bar kit, so I have no experience with anything else.

I don't do it every fill up but I do check. If I'm getting an abnormally low MPG that can be indicative of another issue. I don't want to be throwing money away getting 10mpg when I could be getting 15 mpg, let's say from a dirty throttle body or messed up sensor somewhere.

Holy crap, that took me down a long dark rabbit hole.. Lol. That was a lot of info to review but I do appreciate you looking out. I might just try to see if anyone on TW has an extra HKB Diode they need to get rid of.. Seems like alot of 3rd gen owners bought these and then later found out they don't work for 3rd gens..
