I thought the Fuel Pump Recall was 2018-2019 only. I see your truck is a 2017. Has this broadened to 2017 now? There is a forum on this also - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-recall-fuel-pump-2018-2019.647974/

This is not a recall. This is a HP fuel pump recovery campaign from Toyota. I personally didn't have any issue with my fuel pump, but volunteered for the campaign.

Is this campaign advertised anywhere? I searched for it but keep coming up with the LP fuel pump recall.

I don't think so. My friend works at a Toyota dealership and he told me about it. They were looking for 10 fuel pumps at my local dealership from various vehicles with the 3.5L engine. I recommend calling your Toyota dealership service advisor if you're interested.

They replaced my HPFP back in 18 for the chirping. I think there was some tsb that I had to show the dealership as they were trying to tell me it was normal

Yup, I saw several user on here having their HP fuel pump replaced because of chirping, including bshammer and few others I can't remember. Mine didn't have any chirping, it was the $100 gift card that really sold me :anonymous:

Need some help guys. I tuned my truck a while back to “1.05 91 octane performance tune”( I forgot the actual name of it)

Anyways, I’ll be regearing in two weeks to 5.29. Anyone here tuned to 5.29 gears with automatic transmission?

Is my truck going to run weird if I regear and don’t have the proper tune for it?

Any input will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If luck would have it, the 2.0 final tune will be out in 2 weeks. 2.0 final have options for 4.88 and 5.29 gears.

I think you'll be fine even without the gear specific tune. No real data to base that on though. Maybe @therealprotaco has a tune

What’s the name of the final tune? 1.05 2.0?

You'll be fine on the stock gear tune. I have run the stock gear tunes from time to time since I’ve had the 5.29s and have been good. It’s not perfect but truck will be totally fine and perform better than stock.

I just got 5.29s installed on Thursday. I drove around for one day on the most recent 87 oct 31-33 and it felt fine no issues. I was babying it though for the first 50 miles.

If I did it again I would drive 500 miles on the regular tune and then another 500 on the 5.29 to feel the difference.
