I purchased a 2011 Tacoma double cab TX Pro about a month ago and it is the third new Toyota truck: 92, 02, 11. I got the new one because I needed 4X4 to get home in the winter, a little snow or ice and the 2X4 wouldn't make it up the steep hills. I wanted to post some pics before I start moding it.

Here are some pics when I had her off road driving up to hike the AT trail

So looks like I will be looking for a strong skid plate/bumper...any ideas (pics or links please)?

Nice truck man. I know the TX packages have taken a lot of flak for being "Just bolt ons" but those wheels are the best ones Toyota gives from the factory. It looks awesome man

If you start modding it up and go with different wheels I will buy those off of you. It looks sweet and those are some cool backcountry picks, congrats

Well I already got a very small door ding so I am thinking of getting some sliders first to help prevent more damage and for the trails. Post some pics or links to some good ones so I can figure out what I want. I think I would prefer bolt on will minimal drilling.

Also looking for off road trails near me. PM me with any your willing to share.

Simms65, do you go off roading at all?

Thanks, I like the it but would rather the front end protection but I do like the rear bumpers and he is local so no shipping. Maybe he will start making them

The piece of wood actually helped getting up the hill in the snow a few times.

I will see how the tires do for now. They worked fine off road so far. What is everyone using? Need something that works good in the snow and ice.

Taking the most expensive thing I've ever purchased (aside from my house) out and beating the piss out of it doesn't seem like the best idea ever to me. My Tacoma is also my DD, so it's gotta stay drivable. I'd like to get into some mild/mid grade off-roading, but only the kind of stuff that a stock Tacoma OR can handle.
