Its not over heating, its reaching temperatures i'd rather not reach is all. Do you monitor your transmission temp? what do you see on trails in the middle of 110f arizona desert days?

    Until august :(

Okay - that info helps. My taco will have a different mount to the RTT. Need to know what kinda supports are required. Cheers, TM. If you get over to ROB, I'll spring for Coffee at the Java :)

I went with the 103. Ordered it awhile ago but just barely installed it. I don’t have a garage, so I was waiting for some better weather.

Oh man, too bad you’re leaving! I was debating between the clamshell style RTT and a hard shell like the James Baroud. The hard shells are pricy but have some great features, like they don’t take up any more footprint than your truck. The tent I ended up with came up on FB marketplace, and I couldn’t pass it up. Also, it works perfect with my KB Voodoo bedrack. I didn’t need any other hardware or mods than what came with the tent.

    Very cool!

5 years is a solid run. I'm ready to get back and start overlanding and whatever and junk. It's time. Good lookin' truck you got there.

Oh the SS3 pros totally crap on the rigid. I believe they have a wider output and put out 5 or 6k more lumens. I already have the rigid though so I don't plan on upgrading on this truck. Maybe my new one, but I'm trying to hit at least 250k miles on mine before I upgrade

I do monitor my trans temps with the same scanguage setup you have. I’ve had my trans go over 200 on trails where I’m at and the solution to help cool it down is to drop the gear. Climbing the mountains out here my truck can go from about 180 to 200+ very quickly.

Rims and tires on a couple weeks ago. Got out camping on a friends property in the woods off the grid to test some new gear. Awning is a life saver in the rain. This weekend real shakedown in the forests up north.

From this weekend. Polished the paint with Sonax Perfect Finish. Applied CSL followed by 2 coats of ExoV4. New headlights installed, new grill installed. Steamed off the Lamin-X yellow foglight covers. 4x4 badge removed from tailgate. Started to remove Yeti Rescue stickers. New wheels are on their way. 2nd life of this 10 year old Tacoma has begun.

Man, the Fumoto valve really seems to be hanging down quite a bit. Aren't you concerned that a rock or something might shear it off? Does it really stick out that much or is it just the camera angle?

What valve model did you use?

im normally in 2nd when on trails - i run 34"s and am stock gearing so my trans hates me. main issue is air flow at low speeds i think - it did not surpass 200f and historically i've seen 220 on the same trail.

Installed a new tailgate latch with a backup camera then spent the rest of the day on my back threading the wire along the frame to the front dashboard.
    20200527_090354.jpg

Also got the Grid Mod installed after much grumbling and Dremel-ing. Not sure if I like it since I found that the more stuff you put on the grid, the more likely that the console cover won't stay up when you open it. Will have to live with it for a while.

:facepalm:how did I miss this. I like that high flow rate notion. I JUST went with the 103SX, thinking it's the latest and greatest. Not the biggest deal since the slower rate adds a few minutes to something you do maybe 3 - 4 times a year?
