You are pulling boosted WOT numbers. How have your plugs been faring out in all of this as far as replacement intervals?

    Interesting, never seen these before.
Knock, and you can set static conditions based on inlet temps, like the ignition multiplier vs iat table and such.

This AFR sounds great if boosted.
You can get away with much leaner for NA

Hmm without harm to cats under load? (component protection is whats tapering down to 11.6ish under high load's n rpms)

That's why I was saying what I saying earlier. I'm not running standard plugs anymore and it's notably evident in the way the engine currently runs across the entire RPM range, even at idle.

As @OVTune stated, you can get away with much leaner AFRs with NA because there is a much lower fueling threshold required for the heat output that NA engines are capable of generating unlike boosted vehicles.

Your cats will be more than safe with leaner mixtures than 11.6 - 11.7 under load. I personally think that at the current ratios you are at that you are overfueling. It seems like I'm not the only one who thinks that either.

Interesting, at this point its already much leaner than stock (but we all know that was pig rich).

    12.5-12.0 (.856 to .821 lambda) more ideal?

come on out that bag! Trying to take vacations n things... gosh.

Actually really curious your thoughts on the dips i was seeing on a couple pages back.

.82 lambda sounds good. That's typically about the most I ever see running out of stock cars when overlooking their air fuel data.

If you do your own tuning I don't need to tell you what to do if you don't, I recommend you always refer to the information given out by your data or the data your tuner reads.

The ole addage of play with rich, flirt with lean. Id rather be a little overly rich in high load conditions for a factor of safety. Truck seems to be running so good as of late with a few changes i have done.

Won't hurt a cat. With good fuel you can likely get away with AFR around 13 at full load if you're looking for as much power as possible.

Pretty standard with NA tuning to run closer to 13 AFR at full load, rarely ever going under 12.0, even on super high compression engines like the skyactiv G, 14:1 compression and we tune it for full load AFR at 13.4-13.6

You're current AFR won't hurt anything you're likely just not making as much as can be. If you don't care about that 5-10 Hp difference up top then it's not a worthy venture.

I know everything is dreadfully afraid of "knock" but it's not as scary as you'd think.
    Engines knock, combustion isn't perfect.
It's massive knock under high cylinder pressure, pre ignition, or knock consistently over long term, that damages stuff.

For example the 370z, the 2019+ coyote 5.0 mustang, those engines knock like hell on earth under 2000 rpm.
They aren't blowing up very often...

The tacoma 3.5L knocks likes its freaking broke right off the show room floor.

Interesting. I wonder why stock tunes were so insanely pig rich then.

I'm sort of in your camp in that I'd rather be a little rich and not have to worry about it when I stomp on the go pedal constantly.

Toyota isn't trying to make as much power as they can. They want it to last forever on the crappiest gas you can imagine.

    Yeah very true.

Now to wrap my head around the torque based throttle table... and why the hell there is anything over 90 deg of throttle opening in there...

Here's an interesting one. I don't know what has improved or changed either, but new maximum flow efforts using my hybrid TRD intake setup nets me a full 407.2 grams/ sec. or 53.86 lbs/ min which is literally the most I have ever seen this truck dish out under WOT.

This tells me that the hybrid TRD intake setup I am using is a 100% solid contender with the aftermarket cone style intake setups as far as flow is concerned. Also, unless @JustDSM did some recent rescaling changes to my MAF, this also tells me that this thing is running at it's absolute most optimum it has ever run. Color me impressed pending data review by Justin.

Currently uploading my recorded AFR gauge footage to him via YT so I can send him the link to view in conjunction with the datalog.

The truck feels really healthy today! ;)
