You just surpassed my technical knowledge. Like I said, I had to roll it back.

Roll back as a system reset? May need a walk through on that. Though I believe I already rolled it back. I just dont want to redo the settings for a third time.

Yeah. An older version. It's no different than what you're doing now. Just older software. Unfortunately you're probably going to have to redo the settings. The bigger ones should be okay.

once again having an issue with my PX5 connecting wired carplay with CarlinkIt dongle. Updated iphone to 13.5(17F75) the other day today I got in the truck and it wouldn't connect CarPlay via Autokit app, updated AutoKit and CarliknkIt dongle and it still doesn't connect, just spins and tries to connect but never makes connection....so frustrating. Thinking about jut ditching the Dasaita and getting a Pioneer or something reliable, just tired of these updated breaking the connection...advice is welcomed

Just installed my Dasaita PX6 9.0. So far the stereo is great, the fit is awesome and looks very natural in the dash. I have made a couple adjustments so far, the first being changing the launcher for a better UI instead of the ugly one standard with the PX6. The only issue I have been having is inconsistent activation of siri after remapping the steering wheel mic button. A couple of things I would like to do however am not sure of exactly how to achieve.

-> An alternative FM radio app, or a way to access FM radio within Carplay
-> Utilization of the factory mic, or a more elegant way to add an external mic for the headunit
-> Attaching to factory FM antenna and GPS

Note: I have tried three different aftermarket microphones. None are as good as the factory microphone setup from toyota on the stock entune head unit. This one works and is resides in the factory location.
    item 3: GPS Adapter - https://www.discountcarstereo.com/sumi-sma.html
FM radio adapter - my unit came with one, however this will also work - https://www.amazon.com/RED-WOLF-Aftermarket-2010-2016-Replacement/dp/B07VFTPJMM

So you rigged this one up to your Dasaita unit? I think I've got mine working again, these updates are just a PITA. Right now I've just been using the built in mic on the front of the Dasaita unit, wife bitches everytime cause she can't hear me, not sure if thats an issue LOL. I may give this a try

@skrankk - Did this end up working for you? I have been researching this and need to find a solution for this issue. I have the same issue with my Joying head unit and sunglasses are a must for me. No real luck finding something customized for the Joying screen size so I have been considering the same process of trimming a tablet screen protector.

I am confused on the Mic issue. I just got my PX6 unit today and it came with a nice set of cables, plus I received the Discount Stereo SUMI-SMA adapter. In the kit, I got with my radio, is a GPS and microphone also. I was hoping to use the CANBUS to use the OEM Factory Mic. Is this not possible? And if not, is the included mic junk?

There is a thread on TW where one enterprising member was working a project to use the factory mic. The thread has essentially died. At the present time, there is no way to use the factory mic. That said, I found an aftermarket solution developed for the VW Jetta that works nicely in the Tacoma factory mic location.

From my understanding the factory mic needs a power source, it isn't passive like a 3.5mm plug in type. That's why there no way of connecting the factory mic to your HU. I just used the plug in one and installed it near my steering wheel. Makes a huge difference in sound, from what I've been told to people talking to me while using it

If you look over on the tundra forums, there is a thread to address all this. Note that it is well within some peoples capability to do the modifications, however most of the members here are looking for a simple, plug and play solution.

I just installed the Dasaita PX6 HU that @svermilyea recommended! Super thanks to him for the links and tips! Radio was installed in 10-minutes and everything works great. (GPS, BSM, Back Up Camera, etc.) I updated the stock PX6 firmware and will now move over to Hal9K v4.0 that fixes even more software issues...but right out of the box it works perfectly. OEM Audio + Reference 500 system actually sounds a little bit better. Super Happy with this purchase -

Note: I did use the mic that came in the box. I routed it right next to the dash area and should be fine. Most calls I use AirPods anyways due to too much road noise and privacy. I did also purchase the SUMI-SMA Adapter and that also works perfect.

It was very easy to trim to size with a ruler and razor. I have no issue seeing the screen with sunglasses on and the matte holds onto less fingerprints as well.

Having a real issues updating my PX5 Dasaita unit. Keep getting this "footer is wrong" and Signature verification failed error. I was able to sucessfully update the MCU but not the OS update. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not Andoid savvy at all..so don't know whatelse to try

    I've tried the following:
Formatted 16GB USB on Mac to Fat32, loaded update.zip - same failure
Formatted USB drive via Dasaita unit, loaded update.zip - same failure
removed micro SD and tried update - same failure

I can confirm the recommended anti glare screen covers work like a charm... That is looking through my polarized Oakley Drivers

    +1 for @skrankk
