Went and picked up my transmission from my GF's work on my lunch hour :) JDM off ebay, for the manual swap. Still waiting for the seals from Toyota before I can stuff it in. Rest of the stuff needed for install I have. It's always something lol

On the plus side everything seems to work and sounds smooth. Their ad suggests they are quite sure to only sell good used units. This one has 85k or so they say.

In full restoration mode with my latest package from McGeorge. Replacing a whole lot of rusty stuff. Picked up 4 new seat bolts, new screws and bolts for the center console, new clamps for the air intake assembly, cleaned 16 years worth of crud from under the airbox. Also replaced the window trim.

Just look at the build thread
I haven't posted pictures yet. I was waiting for the coilovers to settle and get them adjusted up before I did. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow even though I'm not adjusting the coilovers up for another couple of weeks.

I have driven through Medano once straight to the dunes but never camped. we are camping at the dunes this time.

I really want to do Ouray to Telluride via Imogene but ima be loaded with camping gear and the family. Power and turning radius are not great on my truck so hence the hesitation.

*Solved* I said fuck it 5min into trying to get them to fit, used some 20ga stainless wire and it worked perfectly

Probably a stupid question, but I’ll ask anyway. Regarding 555 ubj install

How the heck do you get these flat spring type clamps over the boot without destroying them. Just to clarify, it’s not the snap rings, but where the oem uses wire that is circled around and the spun to secure the bottom of the boot

Should I just got get some thin gauge wire (thinking picture wire) and do it oem style and ditch these things?

On Medano, campsite 1.8 (mile marker) is my favorite.

18” Borla Pro XS and Vibrant ultra quiet. Sounds pretty good. Definitely a deeper tone to it. 2.25” all the way.

Little more progress on the mount, it’s so flipping hot when I get off work I can only get a little bit done a day.
