just picked up my 2010 taco two weeks ago with 8000 miles on it. And of course when i take it home i notice that when i have the heat on i hear a high pitched whine coming from the fan that blows it through one of the vents. I know this since when i turn the heat off it stops.

Does anyong else have this issue? I was thinking of somehow getting to that fan behind the vent and spraying wd-40 on it or something to stop the whine. Its just really annoying and unless i have the radio cranked i can hear it.

I have a 2010 w/ ~6000 miles and have the same issue. It only seems to happen on the lowest speed setting. I have been meaning to take it in and have them fix it, but for some reason it doesn't do it when I am within about 2 miles of the dealership......

Try checking the cabin filter behind the glove box mine made a clicking sound when I bought it somehow some leaves and trash had got in there. I wouldn't spray wd unless u like the way it smells in the cab

I just got mine done, the dealership gave me problems with it though. The mechanic kept on telling me he couldnt hear it when he would drive my truck. Funny thing it started to do it before i got to the dealership and after i left. Long story short i bugged them enough and they replaced it for me.

i have 12k miles on my 2010 tacoma and my fan squeels like a pig on all settings (low-high) but most noticeable at the lower speeds. its so loud it overpowers my radio and makes me not use my fan as often. are you serious toyota? a fan cant last 1 year?
