If you have touch buttons on your factory HU it's a premium one. If you have physical buttons it's a standard one.

I have a spare premium bezel if anyone needs it. No trim on it so you will have to take the trim off your other one.

I'm just starting my research on this. Did you need anything to connect directly into your factory amp? What about sound quality, back up camera quality?

You need the maestro stuff and adapter harnesses. As posted up above. Sounds much better and the camera looks better IMHO. It's still the stock camera and is not the highest res thing.

Dumb question. How hard was it to get the mic to the factory location? I’ve never had to mess with a headliner before, and am curious as to what it takes to route it there. Thanks!

Simple. Pull the over head console down, disconnect the factory mic, pop it out, run your new mic wire up the driver side pillar then over to the center. Once you get the mic to the center pull the headliner down just enough to push the mic through. Use double sided tape to secure it in the place of the factory mic, put the console back on. One it’s done go back and push the wire under the headliner then the molding (or whatever it’s called) on the pillar. Secure it under the dash with zip ties. Done

Thanks! From the thread you posted, I take it that the Pioneer mic will not fit in the factory stock mic location?

It will, just need to use double sided tape.

Im considering the 10-inch, DMH WT8600NEX just so I don't have to mess w/ the standard bezel that I have on my SR5 w/o premium audio.

I don't personally mind a floating look if it's covering the bezel. I do like the look of the 9 inch, but my router is a piece of garbage and Im 60% sure I would need to purchase a new mount for my table saw - seems like a solid 5 hours, and a new router (not a bad thing?) - The premium bezel might be fine, but that's another $300 purchase, correct?

    Unsure yet. Anyone have thoughts?

if you keep an eye on ebay the premium bezels pop up on a semi regular basis. dont worry if the color trim part is scratched. you get better deals on the scratched ones and you can move the colored trim over from your other bezel. the 6600 is by far the cleanest looking main stream aftermarket HU. the 8600 is also quite a bit more money just to gain 1 inch.

I think the take away here is that I shouldn't be worried about screwing up a bezel :)

How difficult was the installation? I’ve only ever attempted to install an android unit (Joying/Dasaita) which was pretty straightforward.
Is this installation much more involved?

6600's sold out on crutchfield. Guess I'll have to wait. Those Meso Customs trim blackout pieces, is the MGM close to the rest of the interior trims pieces (Door Panel/Dash) or completely different grey?
