The corbeau seats sure are enticing, but damn $1000 for a set of seats in a truck that is less than $10k is a tough pill to swallow. Guess I need to call some pick and pulls and find a set of 4Runner seats

Yea Corbeau seats sure are nice BUT the price thing unless I can find a used set,I was really thinking of Subaru or some other little foreign car,i have A welder can modify brackets if needed..When I had my 91 extracab I put a set of 98 4 runner seats in an they worked great an like previous posts said an although the 91 had a 60-40 bench all but 1 bolt in each seat lined up..

I messaged them and asked about sliders for our truck. Found a set of local 4Runner sport seats, but the guy wants $200

98 will be much easier to make fit. Otherwise, you'll need the tacoma rails and swap them on the 06, as they will not even be close otherwise

I think I'm going to take some measurements on my current seats an when I go to the yard just look for any comfortable seats that kinda match the width an height,I know on my 91 even though they bolted up fine they sat a little higher than the originals,so I need to take that into consideration..

Hey guys, I have a 2000 Tacoma and have purchased these 3rd gen 4runner seats and am in the process of trying to swap the outer rails. The inside rails/feet bolt right in but I'm a bit confused on swapping the outer rails though.

I was using this vid as a reference:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=189&v=1RPC4dKmKGs&feature=emb_logo

I know I need to grind off these bump stops. I have ground them off on the other seat and the rail won't slide all the way off. Something inside the rail is preventing it:

But it looks like the video shows finding off the other side(inside the rail) of these rivers where the foot attaches:

If I grind off where the foot attaches won't the foot come off? If so, then wouldn't it make sense to just swap the feet? Maybe I'm over-thinking this. o_O

    Any help is appreciated.

I put seats from a 4runner into my 98, had to Jeremy Clarkson the mounts a bit but managed to get all 4 bolts into the factory holes.

As stated above, just bolt in the 4 runner seats and "Jeremy Clarkson" some of the mounts into the factory holes. The video is for Scion XB seats. However, if you wanted to go my route you have to do an extra step. You can see here at 2:11, that you have to grind another part off to slide the rails off the mounting assembly. Doing my method doesn't require welding in the truck which could cause carpet burns. If you want to cut the feet off and weld the Tacoma feet on that is fine, but you have to tac the feet on in the correct position. If I were to do my seat swap over I would have just cut the Tacoma feet off and weld them to the other seats. The only reason I did it the other way on the Scion XB seats is there was no measuring involved. I just bolted it right into the stock location, and I didn't have to adjust any of the brackets. I believe the 4runner seats bolt 3 out of the 4 mounts without any problems. I heard of people having to bend or redrill the 4th hole to mount it completely. Remember the seats are part of your safety equipment and its always a good idea to have it mounted correctly. If the mounts break it will put added force on your body in a crash.

Just a question, there’s some bucket seats in a 98/99 at my local scrap yard, would they be more then likely a direct bolt on if I wanted to replaced my bench seat that I have in my truck right now?

Yes they will. Anyone know how compatible Scion FR-S seats might be?

Here's a few details that show how I did the 3rd gen 4runner seats in my 00 Taco. I swapped the outer seat rails only.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2000-4wd-ex-cab.519490/page-4

Are the seats in the scrapyard from a 98/99 Tacoma or a 4runner?
