something else to consider is that the s1s are actually brighter than the s2s.

Are the fuel tanks the same for all years? I seem to recall there being a change somewhere.

 

There's a difference in the evap system location between the earlier years and later years I think...in fact there was a thread on here about this last week. I think this was it

95.5 to 2000 are different from the 2001 to 2004. The charcoal canister moved from the front of the truck to the rear over the tank. 1st pic is older 2nd is newer

 

Yea, I knew the evap was different just wasn't sure if the tank was the same or not. Thanks for the link.

 

01 evap canisters are still under the hood. They switched in 02.

Has anyone else seen an OEM (?) CV that is a painted green shaft instead of having a green sticker wrapped around the shaft like this one that we just rebooted and Mike just reinstalled?

Every OEM CV I've seen has the wrap, but FWIW - I'm pretty sure CVJ paints them green when they reman them.

I wondered about that, on Baja designs' website it lists the S1s as being brighter, but i wasnt sure if that was just the per LED lumen count, or the total. I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to lighting but it seemed like a logical conclusion given that the s2 listed lumen count seemed to be about 1/2 of the lumen count for the s1s, meaning that the total would be the same? of course, i really don't know what i'm talking about here, this is just my best guess. can anyone confirm (or correct me)?

 

I can answer that on Friday. Have a fresh set of remans from CVJ being delivered. First set from them, read some issues with boots... I got the OEM boot so we will see how she goes.

 

I've got one of those on my truck and absolutely love it. even if it's the alternator instead of the battery, imo the upgrade is worth it. plus when you spend extra money on batteries they can last longer than what it says on the tin. my old battery that i replaced with the x2 power one was a 4 year starter battery that retailed for about 230 dollars if i remember correctly (bought by the PO of the truck but i looked it up to see what one would run me). when i replaced mine it had almost 9 years since the date sticker on it.

 

Mine made it 4 wheeling seasons and then all the boots starting giving out. I got the high angle inner and cheap outers. I just rebooted them with OEM boot kits and they're still going strong.
