the registry key is tied to the system ID of your computer, so he needs that ID to generate the key.

If you send in your dongle, you get VF tuner for free ($79 upgrade) plus FM w/ p5flash

Because a dongle goon pissed OVT off and he simply changed his terms. Search back and give that person a piece of your mind.

I don't mind that if I can get the tune right now and the VF tuner later when he receives the dongle, I don't think that'll happen though haha

This had been forecast for some time; ie probably as far back as 2+ months ago it was made known that 2.0 wouldn't release on dongle. I just dove in and sent mine in so that I could get everything prepared and ready for when 2.0 released. It worked out well for me.

I get it.... when I downloaded the tune pack for my ECU, there was ~30 tunes in there. Multiply that by the number of ECU's, and then double that again for dongle, and it's a ton of detail work to keep straight. I think the number is that now less than 100 dongle users (or at least that was the number ~2 months ago) exist. That's probably a pretty small percentage of the whole tuned community.

Ya the process is generate a ticket, mail your dongle, matt replies with reg info when he gets your dongle. He has to email someone to generate the registration so add a couple days there. The instructions are a probably 50 pages back at least.

Sounds to me like they are all describing not having gear lock...which you have pointed out several times is not part of this 2.0 version. Going from a gear lock tune back to one without gear lock and then driving in s mode would produce exactly the shifting behavior changes they are describing. Wanting to keep gear lock is the only reason I haven't downloaded the new version to fix my cold start hiccup. Other than the cold start hiccup, the most recent 2.0F with gear lock is perfect for me.

04A61, 2.0 reg 89oct 35 THX. I’m stock tires and gears but thought I would get slightly higher shift points by running the larger tire size tune. So far it appears to me that all the shifting is bang on and the 4-5 shift under light throttle dosent happen until 2700 (should be 1700)rpm. With the previous tune it appeared to occur at around 2500 (should be 1500) so that extra 200 is good. Seems to have eliminated any bogging on the upshifts under light throttle. Great feeling. If you’re wondering how I know what gear I’m in, it’s monitored on my Scangauge.

Has anyone who is monitoring trans temps notice that it appears to be running cooler with 2.0F base? I have about 450 mi using D only and the pan temp is never exceeding 185* and the atf cooler has not come on. Based on previous situations, I would expect it to heat up at the TC enough to open the cooler tstat but that hasen’t happened yet. I’ll be towing next weekend so I’ll likely see some different readings that include the atf cooler. Also to check out how ECT works.

Just an thought that perhaps @OVTune has tweaked this tune so things run a bit cooler than previous? Is that possible?

I have no complaints as everything appears to be working as one would expect a new truck to work. Kudos to Mat for a great product. Worth the wait.

It will tide me over until the gearlock version is released.

    Cheers

Edit: Corrected (bold) at what rpm the 4-5 upshift happens.

I have noticed the trans temps running cooler. And the MPG running higher.

I plan to ask for experienced help when someone gets the voltage thing figured out. I don’t have it in me keep up with another OV thread that I’m already so far behind on.
