Love the old school grill with Toyota strips on the visor. What is that? A patch?

Not going to be an issue for me if I even do this. But I hate the 03-04 electronic garbage with a passion.

I’ve already had to buy a $700 throttle body because one of the sensors went out. And if I start to get the loss of accelerator pedal again I’m going to lose it.

It’s already Acting up IMO. Noticeably de-throttle on 1-2. Sometimes won’t kick down to 1 wend slowing way down almost to a stop until I give it some gas then a lurch forward. This all goes away when I turn the key on and pump the gas a bunch. It’s way more sensitive and responsive. Then over time it learns to piss you off. Seems Toyota has done nothing about it.

The Electronic throttle body seems to take a dump when a supercharger is installed. Looks like it’s the APPS sensor by this thread.

Got it out of the garage and took it for a quick spin. Love the 5.29’s in low range! I’ll be really excited to get my front diff done and back in the pickup so I can get both of them broke in and play with the front locker.

I ran my trans/t-case breather yesterday too. I’m going to take it back off and spi-wrap a couple of places, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out3ABE1632-FFDA-44F3-B168-6A7A54795909.jpgB7D214D9-9329-4D92-BADC-176C3CC36AC7.jpg

How tight do you guys torque your spark plugs.

NGK says on the box 1/2 to 3/4 turn after head/gasket contact. But Toyota spec is 13ft pounds I think. Which turned out to be somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2

I do 13 lb ft on every spark plug in every car I change em in. Never had any issues getting them back out or anything. Sometimes I use anti-seize and sometimes I dont. It doesnt affect anything, especially considering the huge tolerance in my cheapo torque wrench.

Anyone know what year trucks had the earlier style MAF sensors and when did they stop using them? Trying to sell an airbox on here that has a MAF sensor that looks like this.

This is the problem with online communication. Sometimes it's hard to tell when somebody is trying to be funny. I make lots of videos and say lots of stupid sayings in my videos and I don't remember them all. Maybe I'm getting dementia.

So, this is simply a misunderstanding. I called you a dick and you called me a dick so we're even. What you have to understand about me is I don't take shit off people whether it's in person or online. I took your comment like you were talking shit to me and people do talk a lot of shit to me online about the videos I make so it's not like my response to your comment came out of nowhere with no history behind it.

I'm still the same guy that will continue to help out by making videos and contributing to forums like this one. I have a healthy sense of humor and joke around a lot. The way I read your comment is that you were laughing at me since I struggled with getting that gear free of the differential. If you read your comment again, you can see how I could have thought that. I'm human, and just like anyone else, I can bring out out my asshole side when I think it's necessary. Like I said above, I've received lots of criticism on Toyota Enthusiast Facebook pages and on Toyota forums, but instead of turning the other cheek, I'll hit back at least once or twice before I get tired of the shit talking back and forth and then I let the jerk have the last say.

I guess I should have asked first if you were just trying to be funny. Again, online communication can be hard. Your LOL was laughing with me and my stupid sayings I put in videos instead of you laughing at me like I'm some type of incompetent moron. You can see the huge difference between the message you were trying to convey and how I interpreted it.

Anyway Dude, sorry for the misunderstanding and the shit talking to you.

    Timmy

@Timmah! First, I just want to say that this community has a ton of respect for what you do for us with your videos and your helpful responses in the forums.

But knowing that it’s hard to perceive emotion from black and white text, and knowing that you don’t take shit from anyone, it should probably a lot more clear of a dig before spelling out a 3-4 paragraph response about something you assumed.

You can always ask other members of the community who saw the comments what their thoughts on it were/are. We will definitely let you know if someone is talking shit, probably before you even realize it, and will most likely defend you, also before you realize it. I just think this is one of those situations where probably 95% of the people who saw his comment perceived it as a thank you shout out.

My perspective was that he felt he was missing something in taking the stub shaft out but your video gave him the confidence that he was doing it right and just needed to put a little more “umph” in it. So... he gave credit to your video.

Also, he called you a dick because you called him a dick... when he was giving yo credit. You called him a dick because you assumed something. I hope you can see that difference, and how that’s not “even.”

In the end, you have my deepest respect for sincerely apologizing. Most people these days wouldn’t.

The standard of being clear, and not assuming applies to everyone in here. This isn’t the keyboard warrior battlefield of FB.

On a side note, to the guys that talk shit to you @Timmah!, I really wish you didn’t have to deal with that. I can’t stand it when people leave mean a** comments on someone’s videos when the creator is just trying to help people... knowing damn well they would never say that to your face. I can’t imagine what that’s like to deal with all the time. I know for me, it’s one of the reasons I’m not a content creator.

I'd say let's just smash it, and be done with it. The reason I stay mostly in this section is due to lack of drama and mostly self moderation of the annoying dicks, which neither of you are.
