If you want to only build your own tunes, then at a minimum you need vFT and the Tactrix cable. If you want existing final tunes, you'll need a tune pack as well

So I’ve followed this fairly close but I’m confused on one thing. I’ve installed vF and unlocked my ECU, everything is working. Do I need to send OV tune an email via zen requesting tune packs or will OV send them based on my registration and other info from unlocking my ECU? I am an original OV customer and purchased vF for $79.

You need to request them for the ecu you want.

Right except there are none available for Auto Transmission yet. I believe Matt said first of July.

Thanks. I knew they were not released yet. Just wasn’t sure if I need to request them.

I'm sure this will get lost in this thread, but for future reference, the instructions are installed along with the vF program.
The default install location is C:\vF Tuner\vF Tuner\ToyotaCal+Editor+Instructions.pdf

    Yes sir

got about 200 miles on it so far. It’s seriously the best my truck has ever driven. 2.0 on 04b13 was awesome and somehow this is even better. Zero issues or complaints

Welcome to TW! As said above, you won't find the answer to your question in this thread. The search feature in the top right corner is super helpful to find existing content about questions you may have. For example, here is a thread with a ton of info about cleaning the MAF and throttle body on the second gen trucks: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-throttle-body-cleaning-2005-v6.94203/

    Good luck!

I'm confused, in your signature it says "2.0 final AT is here" but you're also saying the tune packs for the auto transmission are not available yet?...

There are final 2.0 files available (without gear lock)

the tune pack is editable vf files, they are not yet available for AT

You can wait for the editable tunes or you can go ahead and install the 2.0 final now to see how you like When you click on my link you will find a list of tunes for your truck. Pick one that matches your liking. Put the tune on your desktop and start up vft and flash away.

Of course you'll have to choose one of the 04A61 tunes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like with these 2.0 final tunes there isnt a 'base' or 'performance' option any longer; you simply pick the one that matches your ECU, fuel type, tire size, etc.

The current 2.0 AT release is to appease the haters who were doubting that OVT would even finish it. Most was external to TW, but there were a few comments from goons in the Dev thread.

This release is giving you a big bite of what 2.0 is really like, versus the Betas, which were test files. The final version will have tune options.

Odd/dumb question here. I understand the stock tune file from the ECU cannot be saved and are instead provided to us by ovtune. Lets say we had our grill sensor re-calibrated, does flashing 2.0 then flashing back to the provided stock tune cause me to lose that calibration? Same for software-based TSB's, what happens to those? I'm not all too familiar so I apologize if this has been explained before.
