It's for protection. You never know what could happen at any time. Also I have a concealed carry permit. I was taught that when carrying and I get pulled over to hand that over along with my license to give the officer a heads up.

How strong is that magnet? I wonder if anyone has done any testing on how well it holds during a serious crash? (not criticism, just genuinely curious).

And also strictly my opinion and not criticism, but I think it's good idea to have the trigger covered on a gun not currently in use.

I travel in some rough areas and well....I'm not going to be a victim. Plus it's my right to have it. I pay my taxes, served my counrty. I like being an American. And....I have carried it while delivering meals to the elderly. Good call.

It just so happens I have been approached and questioned by an Officer, while carrying a weapon in the vehicle as well. As a registered, legal, Concealed Carry Permit holder, the police (in any state that offers the permit) know when they run your plates or DL number through the system, if you have the permit or not. It flags their system. For their safety! I know...wild stuff right.

So, yes, when I have spoken to an officer in the past, while armed, from inside my vehicle. I started the conversation with "I know you are probably aware, but in the event you are not; I am carrying a Condition-1 firearm legally, it is located behind my passenger seat (at that time)." I spoke calmly, clearly and confidently, like a sober someone whom has been through a lot of firearms training. You know, like we are on the same team and we are working together against those whom may not be. Because we are. It's his career and it's my Constitutional right to protect myself and my family.

I like to think that the "Retired Navy" plates as well as the fact that I'm in a severely Republican part of the South play into my favor as well.

The funny thing is, the Officer shrugged it off, he wasn't even interested in the weapon. He was more interested in the collision I was involved in and everyone's safety. Wild stuff huh.

In a serious crash there is a chance it could come loose. It is rated to hold 25 lbs. In a crash where it comes loose, the weapon may be my last concern. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I totally respect your view on trigger safety. It's a comfort level thing for anyone in possession of a loaded firearm. My comfort level is in the safety. I've tested it, it works, does not come off safety easily, takes some pressure. I also spent a lot of years carrying a loaded weapon, the safety was sufficient then as well. It's also my opinion that if you are carrying a firearm for protection, it needs to be rapidly accessible and ready to fire. If it takes more than a few movements to utilize it, it's worthless.

I actually wish everyone that carries a gun was exactly like you. At least you listen to other peoples views on it instead of getting all butt hurt about it like some people.

Coincidentally my wife just told me about this magnet setup the other day, which would be much more accessible than the center console where my carry piece is now. But first I will need to make sure it doesn't constitute "open carry," which is still illegal in Florida even if you have a CCW permit. She has the M&P Shield as well, good taste.

It's my favorite for CC. The Wife has the 380 Bodyguard which is a nice little compact too. I have my eye on the new Springfield Hellcat as a new full time CCP. It's sharp!

When the Entune message pops up on my iPhone and I hit accept the volume is significantly lower. I will have to exit out of my music app and go back in. Not sure why.

I hate how the system selects some random artwork for lesser known artists. My Bluetooth stream comes from Google Play Music or YouTube Music...crazy.

They shouldn’t need a reason to have gun mounted wherever they want. Especially in a truck. I’m pretty much a peace and love type of hippy and don’t own any guns, but I served my country and believe everyone has the right to have a weapon unless they evade taxes(it pays for our infrastructure as a society) or committed a heinous crime. Although I don’t like open carry when it comes to assault rifles. That’s just wanting attention. Live and let live though man.

But then again I’m from south Texas..

I didn’t see this listed on the front page; on 2020 TRD’s they have an automatic start feature.

Key fob: lock button, lock button, lock button and hold down a couple of seconds. Vehicle will turn off when unlocked for security reasons

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
There was a thread on that a couple weeks ago; not all ORs have it though (mine doesnt). Lights blink after button sequence but it doesn't start.
