I saw some shredded paper towel pieces on the passenger side floor. So, after some poking around I opened up the cabin filter compartment behind the glove box. Ugh.

I have dcon mouse traps in the garage now...any other ideas in keeping mice out of my truck?

We had a problem once and a friend told me to scatter some moth balls around under the hood.

Seemed to do the job and the mice never came back.

IMHO dcon is a bad move.
Because once mice start to get sick, they go hide. In your truck..
Better is snap traps placed around the perimeter of the garage. The have 8 in mine and check them every day.
I’ll go months and then I’ll get 2 at the same time. The like to hitchhike.
    Your truck is already contaminated.
Time to take a few panels and door sills out and look in.
If you see mouse shit then take the whole interior out.
    No choice.
I can get into a vehicle and instantly tell if the contamination is serious.
    You can’t mistake it..

And I take the vehicles apart like this.
    Not fun.

Thanks for the advice RE: the traps. Unfortunately I'm not that daring to tear the interior apart...luckily there are no other outwards signs, but I know that doesn't mean anything really.

You are REALLY lucky if that's ALL of the damage the mouse caused, i.e., you don't have any of your electrical system wired that have been chewed! I've had two (2) different garaged vehicles that have had rats hide in the engine compartment. Thanks to my German Shepherd walking by my Wife's Volvo, she caught the whiff of rodents, which she hates, and alerted me to "something" hiding in the engine bay!

1.) Make SURE you don't have anything that rodents might consider a food source in your garage. You'd be surprised how well they can smell food.

2.) Try and clean your garage so you can see all of the way around the perimeter and inspect the stem wall for rodent droppings (and termites, while you're at it).

Moth balls or the regular type work best to keep the herd at bay. Peppermint oil on cotton balls works ok too as long as applied often. I've even tried those electronic mouse blasters with some success. Best advice is mouse traps ...lots of them and keep them loaded. Don't be surprised if you kill a few dozen of those little bastards a month.

They’re talking to all their little furry friends, telling them it’s a party at your truck.......

It was so bad where i stored my snowmobile in the corner of the garage those mice pissed all over the sled and chewed the wiring harness's to hell. They made a home in my shop vac chewing a hole right through the plastic side for their entrance. Its been war with them for 2 years now but i'm winning.

Yeah that's not bad, but would still piss me off. At least you aren't getting a CEL like my dad did lol. His knock sensor wire got chewed up in his 2nd gen. We used a peppermint infused thingy from the store. No evidence of them since. Good luck with exterminating them. I'm rooting for you.

I thought i read or heard somewhere that older gens (or maybe it was a completely different car) had some harness coverings made out of some vegetable-based material that mice loved to eat.....

Good info. I recommend snap traps, and the electronic rat zapper, works great. You can try leaving the hood of your truck up and the garage lights on also. Best is snap traps, also sticky traps.

I think this is a good idea, i.e., leave the hood open. I'm trying to take away the rats' privacy!

It's exactly what I have done ever since I've caught rats in the engine compartment of my Wife's car (thanks to my German Shepherd's nose (...may she Rest In Peace)).

    :)
