Lately I have noticed that my dome lights do not turn off automatically, sometimes they will but not all the time.

I have the switch in the center position.

Does anyone else have this issue.
It just started doing this last week.

    Thanks for any information.

Check to see if the doors are closed and check the door sensors.

Does it happen during or after it rains?

Leave your keys in the house and check. They turn on with the remote’s proximity

Doors were all closed, is the sensor that little button covered by a rubber boot in the door jamb?

They do turn on with the key in my pocket when I walk up to the drivers door.

They don't turn on if I don't have the key fob.

If you already check the fuse and it's fine, then it could be ECU or relay issue. Take it to the dealer and have them checked it out.

Before you take it to the dealer, go to the settings on your head unit and adjust the timer for the lights. Then wait for the lights go off after you leave the truck. If not, you know the problem. Take it to the dealer.

I haven't checked any fuses yet, I was kinda under the old thinking that if a fuse blew that the light would not work. As I have been reading up on this I realize that the electrical system is a lot more complex than my cars from the 60's - 70's that I grew up with.

I will look into the head unit settings later, the problem is that it is intermittent.
    Thanks

It is raining now and yes the lights are acting up again.
On the way to work they came on and were flickering. The rain was heavy.

Start checking post-production wiring. Try unplugging and bypassing the flashing unit for a few days. Also, like shakerhood suggests, check for water intrusion into the back of the cab near and below the center rooflines’s brake light.

Yeah that’s what I thought would happen act up in the rain. You should be able to turn them off with the overhead console switch. When the battery savings control operates the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the dome cut relay that is built in to the drivers side junction block to turn off the interior lights. You need a new main body ECU mostly likely cause is someone install led interior lights and reverse the polarity while the vehicle was in battery savings control damaging the circuit. Take it to the dealer they can confirm this diagnosis with a tech stream and a few simple tests. You need a tech stream to register the new ecu anyway. Good luck
