Thanks. I paid $65. I'm not sure how they masked the numbers off, but he did say something about the need to make a stencil. He would have charged a bit more to paint the '4X4TRD Off Road', which I didn't opt for.

    The colors they used were:
        • Ridgeway Blue, H220
        • Stone Grey, H262

I had one on my 2014 for 40k miles and never had an issue. I've only had it on my 2017 for maybe 10k but it feels the same to me. I do a bit of a slap motion to the left and it slides right in. Once you do it a few times you get the feel for it. I've heard of people breaking their shifter, but I haven't had any issues.

Hard to tell from the picture. You don't need to dimple the set screw at all. The idea is to deform the steel into the hole to jam the top thread of the screw and prevent it from backing out.

Edit* It might be easier to do 90 degrees from where you did where there is more material to move around. I did mine in a couple spots just for good measure.

Nice. I need to look at the accumulator delete again. I saw it a while ago but never looked for a writeup. Is there one somewhere?

Super happy with my URD Kit so far.

Bit of a tight fit and I had some figuring out to do but I didn't have to do any cutting even though I'm real tempted to do that if I ever end up in there again.

I know this thread hasn't been posted to in a few months. Coming from a URD short shifter on my old 2010 2.7l Tacoma, I have a few questions I'm wondering someone can answer regarding the 2016+ 3.5l versions.

    1. How has the reliability on the unit been so far (as an FYI, my 2010 short shifter had ~100,000 kms on it and I did not have any problems)
    2. Does the unit increase the height of the shifter/shifter ball? If so by how much? (on my 2010 it did raise the height of the shifter by about 3/4" to 1")

Thanks in advance for any answers.

reliability.. you are referring to the bushings going soft? there's no real reliability concerns with it. but over time the bushings go soft like any stock shifter.

no, it doesn't raise the height. this is NOT a new shifter. it's a kit for the stock one. so or can't change shift arm position unless you use an extension, tall knob, or new arm.

Thanks for the quick response. I meant increasing the total height of the shifter. My URD short throw shifter for my 2010 did increase the height. this was documented by the manufacturer and in threads on TW. I looked in this thread, and could not find any mention of it.

i don't know about the previous ones but the kit for the 3rd gen doesn't raise the height if you keep the same knob. the parts are new bushes and a new detent ball. no changes to the arm or its position.

by the way, i have the stock shifter with a URD SS kit installed with a bit under 40k miles on it. if you want to pay me shipping I'll send it to you.

Just to confirm, the URD shifter with the stock TRD Pro shift knob does not raise the shifter?

Has anyone has issues with that set screw backing out, just out of curiosity? if so, what were some symptoms?

I did my best on this bit, but it kinda worries me

Yep, can confirm. If you are looking to buy, I am going to be selling my URD as soon as I get back from vacation and have time to install the Core shifter I am getting.

Interesting. I thought that with an extension added that it would raise it all up. I suppose not, thanks!

I might be interested in your URD. Any reason why you're switching from URD to core?
