I’m always a fan of OEM but I believe the morimoto are a better light.

I have 2020 OR with LED and I love them. I have a jeep with light bars and my taco LEDs and fog lights seem to be just as bright. Huge difference between them and regular halogens.

I had the Morimotos on my 2019 4Runner which supposedly have the same beam pattern as the Tacoma Morimotos and I'll say the 2020 LEDs are significantly better than the Morimotos in regards to light output and beam pattern. There were some dark areas on the Morimotos on the side that weren't ever a huge deal except for in rare instances of tight turns on pitch black roads, but the 2020 OEM LED headlights have excellent coverage from side-to-side and a much softer cutoff at the top while also throwing great light output.

A little off topic but still led related. Do the oem illuminate further out or just make the normal area brighter? I’ve been driving a rental semi truck with led’s, definitely brighter but no more distance.

Less distance (at least in my opinion) but way better output.

OEM or upgrade to a set of high power halogens.

The Retrofit Source is also producing conversion harnesses now as well if the lead time for the xrunnerdud67 harness is too long. I don't know the difference in quality.

Just curious if they will be plug and play with your new led wiring harness?

Thank you so much for posting this. It’s rare to find someone who speaks as owning the new 2020 LEDs and still thinks aftermarkets are better.

That’s cause they look terrible, lol. I got my truck because I wanted the LEDs.

Yeah you will definitely have to rig a weird backwards compatible harness to get those to work on a LED equipped truck.

Reading this thread makes me glad I went with the standard OEM LED package. They're super bright and I don't have to have the headache of swapping them out

@DawgLover no worries man. Yea the newer stock 2020 leds are nice. Think they cost around $500. But imho it’s not even close comparing something like the Alpharex nova series lights to the 2020 LEDs. Output might be comparable which I’ll have to test out but looks wise it’s night and day. Aftermarket lights like this set just have a way nicer DRL light in them. Again that’s just me, but if your in a budget the stock LEDs are real nice too and are not a bad way too go. Clearly better than the halogen.

Yeah I like my OEM LEDs and the output is great, sure the alpha rex may be slightly better, but those are some UGLY a** headlights IMO.

@TacoBuffet dam man really!? Have you seen them on the trucks? Standing alone I thought ehhh but once I saw some videos and pics of them On the trucks I thought they looked absolutely gorgeous. They make the front of the truck super aggressive.

I have no idea how or why a headlight would be 'aggressive' but I am enjoying the 2020 Pro OEM headlight.

@Grindstone lol the headlight gives the front of the truck a more aggressive look, that’s what I was referring too. And the startup display of the alpha headlight is awesome I think.
