I realize this and had to adjust my ScangaugeII speedometer calibration 7% to get my true speed when I went to 33s. From what @concentric_killa mentioned about the speed sensors being in different locations for the AT vs MT trucks, I was expecting to have to adjust as he did but have found that there was no difference from my stock 3.73 gears. So it seems that maybe the newer trucks all may have the speed sensor at the wheels.

I am confused, is the speed on your dash wrong? or are you reading the scan gauge mph?. My speedo/ odo is still off I never fixed it. I might have to do this though...

I used my scangauge to get my true speed since I got 33s. It was about 7% off from factory so I always showed (on speedo) slower than I was actually going. You mentioned in one of your posts that once I regeared it would show higher than I was actually travelling due to where the speed sensor is on the 6speed MT vs on the AT. I just regeared and did not have to change my scangauge as it was still accurate confirmed with GPS. So I’m not sure if the speed sensor (MT vs AT) is different on the newer trucks or not.

Has everyone seen the new Bronco? It looks and sounds cool. They offer a 2.7L V6 Turbo 10 speed or 7 speed manual with ultra low gear for crawling. Also has GOAT, which apparently is Fords version of CRWL Control.

    I’m excited to see one.

Im just hoping that it makes Toyota step up their game. Maybe they will bring back the FJ and make it more rugged

Ken Block posted a silhouette of it the other day (I think on Instagram) and IMO, it looked like ass. Maybe it’ll look better not being a silhouette but end of the day you’d still be stuck with a Ford.

They’re definitely going after the Wrangler crowd and have come out swinging. 35s fit stock? Yes please!

It's a brute for sure. My wife's first reaction was "When are we getting one?"
Looking forward to seeing how reliable they are in the coming years.

I was browsing the site last night. Couple of things.

From an articulation standpoint, I think the Jeep will still have the bronco beat. You can't beat a 4 link suspension design. Since the Bronco is still IFS, it will be pretty costly to do any sort of suspension upgrades (short of going long travel). I spent ~$12k over the years going long travel in the taco. I probably have as much articulation as a Jeep with a 3" lift. To most people this doesn't matter, and the stock articulation/ travel is fine.

I do like the drain plugs in the floor boards and the marine grade vinyl of the bronco. That looks pretty cool from a maintenance standpoint especially since we have dogs.

Not sure how reliable the bronco will be from an engine standpoint. They have a 3L with a dual turbo (not all models). The reliability will go out the window on that one. I think they all will have some sort of turbo Ie, eco boost. Adding a turbo to any vehicle will kill the longevity. Most people don't keep a vehicle past ~100k mi. So guess its a non issue. I guess, short of going full EV, all new vehicles will have a turbo to increase MPG (as a result of lower engine displacment).

I thought it was strange that there isn't a center cross member in the roof (side to side) from a safety perspective. The jeeps have this design and it is essentially a built in roll bar over the front seats.

I haven't found any size numbers. The bronco looks big. My taco is wide with the long travel on trails. I am curious how much narrower the bronco will be over my 84" wide track width. Being able to run 33's or 35's from the factory is a nice option. Try running 35's on a stock Taco or a 4Runner. Not gunna happen unless you cut the shit out of the firewall.

All that being said, I do like the look. The interior looks badass. My wife an I want to get a 4dr wrangler as the 'family adventure' rig. I might hold off, until the bronco comes out and I can really take a look at it. If Ford can sell a bronco with front and rear lockers, for under $45K, I might consider it.

I was going to the habitat for humanity store up in PC last week and I saw Ken blocks Raptor Long travel Rig on a trailer. Had the Hoonigan stickers all over it. I wouldn't mind taking a tour of his shop in PC. From the online pics, it has shipping containers in it and looks badass.

The low-option 2 door with plain jane steel wheels and a 7 speed manual is pretty fucking glorious. You can order front and rear locking diffs, 4:70 gears and 35” tires on any trim level. Right now the bigger engine can only be paired with an automatic. If they ever make the 2 door available with the 2.7L and 7 speed manual, I’d be highly tempted to buy one.

Curious to see the price of these (4 doors) when comparing to the wranglers. The rubicons are way too expensive for what they are. I have been eyeing the willys edition wrangler (Led headlights, cold weather package, + misc items), but no lockers. Still price out the door here in utah is like $44K. Rubicons even stripped (no led package) is still like 46K.

If the bronco can come with factory lockers, LED head lights, and other items for under the rubicon price it might be worth it. I am on the fence. The amount of articulation will be limited with IFS over the 4 link of the jeep (unless you long travel the bronco, but that will be $$$ (ask me how I kno.. lol)). I am curious why they got rid of the twin traction beam (TTB) setup from back in the day. That setup offered tons of travel and 4wd.

Only time will tell about the longevity of the ecoboost engines.. Throw a turbo in it, and it will not be like a toyota and run forever. But maybe times are changing and that isn't important to people anymore.

It's almost time for a new set of tires, and I was all good with replacing them with another set of the exact same thing (ST Maxx). But dang does Kurt's X3 shoutout vibe with my lust for my buddy's X3 tires I was looking at all weekend (ironically while watching Kurt race around the track). Esp since they come in a slightly lighter C load variant.

Check the weight on those X3’s. They better be indestructible. A 285 is 70 lbs, 255/75 is 64 lbs, 265/70/R17 is 62 lbs. If you’re 265/75/R16 they have a C-load at 50 lbs that is the most reasonable. I’m switching to 17’s for more tire options and they don’t offer the C-load 265 in a 17. Trying the 255/80/R17 Toyo ATIII’s at 52 lbs on my Turdgen. Get them installed Friday. See if my OVTune can keep me away from 4.88/5.29 gears for a bit, but have a hunch gears may be in my future.

Yeah, I'm liking the idea. Time will tell, but it's exciting.

Check out this link. They interview Dave Pericak regarding some of the questions you raise. Ford chose to go with the IFS over the solid axle so they could get the "desert speed", but claim it can still crawl with the best of them. They think they will win some people over. We will see.

If I was to deviate from the Toyota platform, I would choose Ford over Chrysler/Fiat all day. I'm not a fan of Chrysler anything.

EDIT: Left out the link https://www.foxnews.com/auto/2021-ford-bronco-suv-revealed
