What's fair!? Fuk that! Your safety is all that matters. Those are new tires on a new truck. They are both under warranty. You paid for that. It's yours! Use it.

Yea, not much info here. You'd need to show us the sticker. If non OEM tires were used they would be part of a dealer installed package "upgrade" that you paid for. Or you can just take clear pics of the entire sidewall with the flash on.

Some Tacomas got spec'd with a tire upgrade at the port. There is a thread on this forum somewhere that identifies it. If I remember correctly it was southern trucks. To me, that would make them OEM.

It's possible, but would have to be port installed and listed on the sticker as a factory equipment/package.

If I remember correctly, it was on the sticker. It lead me down a rabbit hole on Autotrader trying to figure out which trucks came with this "upgrade" and why mine came with such mundane tires.

Ya. It was on the sticker as an upgrade. I do have the sticker. But I’m away from home atm. I’ll get all the info together and post it here ASAP

I do not think the Autotrader links are accurate anymore but I do remember looking when they were and being able to identify that there were new trucks with upgraded tires from Toyota and not part of some dealer add-on/mark-up. I think the guy in post 5 of the link I posted was correct about the area and price.

And of course none of this addresses the OP's issue. Just some random pointless Tacoma trivia.

Sorry for the tangent. They should warranty those tires, especially with documented attempts at you addressing the issue before the warranty was up and the dealer seemingly admitting there might be an issue that they tried to resolve.

its unfortunate that U might be swimming against the tide
    of stereotypical circumstance

to that extent U are NOT a ' Karen '

ive found extensive personal conversation looses much in translation / understanding
    and is seldom recorded
the he said / she said next time doesnt count

im always specific eliminating the ambiguous / obscure
    also negates the UPsell

its a reality all vehicles are much more complicated
learn as much about yours as U can
no less what U can reasonably expect from routine maintenance
    & performance
    takes time + experience

    good luck

I've got 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain AT's on my 19 TRD OR.I run them at 37 PSI cold, which is what i was told to run them at by the tire shop. Take it to Big O or other tire places that will do a free alignment check. Have them print the specs where they tell you how much out of alignment it is. Decline the alignment today. Take it back to Toyota and show them the alignment results. Hopefully you have written documentation of tire wear problems from purchase and local dealer will take care of you for both the alignment and tires.

I had 3 sets of BFG AT 31/10.5/15's on my previous Tacoma's(98 and 00) and got 50k plus out of each set. The 1 set of Wrangler Duratrac's I had, I was barely able to squeak out 35k. 75-80 on the Interstate (the posted speed in CO /UT) was a 2 hands on the steering wheel drive.

I gave un on Goodyear's long ago...only if Michelin would make a decent off road tire but they don't really ...as soon as the wrangler's go I'll look at Toyo Open Country AT3...

No! No! NO!! You are setting the poor girl up for the ultimate Karen moment. By no means should you ever do that ridiculous effort and expect to get anything meaningful from your efforts. Just because someone puts it on youtube, doesn't mean that there is any value to stealing a kids chalk and trying to get any useful information. There is NOTHING scientific about the silly chalk test. It is the ultimate back yard technique. You will never see any automotive professional doing something so silly because you just don't get any information of any value at all.

As for the OP (and everyone giving advice on this thread for that matter), stop by your local parts store and ask for a tread depth gauge. It cost under $5 and is as essential as a pressure gauge if you care about tire wear. It is pretty easy to use, and in this case, there are youtube videos on how to use it. I would strongly suggest the OP takes the measurements on all 4 tires then posts up the numbers.
