The camera is already angled, and designed to be mounted on a vertical (or horizontal) surface, I think it'll be ok. Look at the camera on your tailgate, it's mounted on a fairly vertical surface. I don't think a few degrees will make that much of a difference, these cameras have a pretty wide viewing angle.

The camera OP provides has a button to configure it for mounting under a horizontal surface vs in front of a vertical surface. The mounting bracket
mlr69 linked looks nice, wish I had known about it before. I ordered one just to try it out and see if it allows me to get my camera a bit closer to center even though I already drilled out a good sized hole in my cheapo grille. Having the camera cord exit pointing to the radiator might be better or might be worse, I'll see. It is a tad pricey for what it is, but hey, 'merica and all that.

I installed my unit for the Tacoma 2020 I received from Taco Garage today and could get neither camera to come on. I plugged everything in and neither the front nor the stock rear camera would come on although I could hear the switch clicking when I hit the mode button to switch between the two.

Any ideas? does it have something to do with these switches (1,2,3) some poster's are talking about?

did mine today too. I needed #3 off. 1&2 still on. Though using mode to select rear camera only showed for a second then goes back to radio.

As far as the switches go I left them as they came because switches as they were seem to make sense when you read the instructions.
So you basically saying you haven't got yours to work correctly either?

Yup, I mean it “does” work, just not the full way it should. The rear camera works normally when I put it in reverse.
Also, the lines don’t come on the front camera when I set them to. I have to keep pressing the button for that to come back on.

Hmmm. Fresh Mexican Taco is a hard man to get a hold of. I wonder if Germes will replace it.

Referencing the rear camera again... look and see how downward pointing it is and what you actually see on the screen. The front camera has a pretty wide viewing angle (like the rear camera does), I think it'll be ok.

Yes. The front camera is for seeing things that are up close to the front of the vehicle, things close enough to be obscured by the hood.
If you want to see what you see looking out of the windshield.... well... look through the windshield. ;)

with that mount maybe it's possible to install camera 180degrees from what's shown in the picture on the previous page and shimming it to point further up or down? or just use shims the original install picture to point camera up a bit more

Without adding a shim its possible some of the view might be obstructed by the grille (see picture below)
Yes camera has wide view and yes rear camera does mainly face down vertically on tailgate but there is nothing directly underneath the camera in the rear tailgate where while using the yotaleds bracket camera is offset back with part of the grille in the way and will mostly cover half the view on camera
