Shouldn't be an issue, but there is a bolt on the back of the engine just below the intake manifold almost directly center of the engine. It's not easy to access but it's back there.

From some of the research i have done it seems like the 05-11 headers will fit and block off the ports. But I can't personally confirm that as I don't have headers.....yet. I want to do cam gears first.

Can I ask what intake this is? I also have a SC and deleted the SAI. But this intake looks fun

Couple guys have done this. My understanding is you need the 12-15 gaskets, which should block the holes.

Thanks for posting that, cool setup curious though the thermal tape is to help keep the air cooler while in that part of the engine bay?

Yes. That bulge is where the 4” tubing encompasses the 5” conical filter. It also sits right over top the Bank 1 headers. Being metal, I tried everything I could to shield it from ambient engine bay temps and keep the fresh air coming in as cool as possible.

Sorry guys, been away from the forums for a bit. There are 2 options for not having a check engine light. One is Hewitt Technologies, though that is like $250 and only does one thing. The other is HP Tuners and a tune from some members on this forum, just check out the link below.

Did you mean to write 05-11 gaskets? Those come with the headers then, don’t they?

so 05-11 guys could also just bolt on 12-15 headers if some were a good deal used?

Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but do I need to remove the hardware as well as do the hp tune? And how would I go about finding someone that can help me with this, a performance boost would be awesome on top of fixing a problem, again sorry to ask but I'm in a bind as it my daily and it's stick in limp mode with my only option is to pay Toyota 1600 or wait two weeks for the part to come in

No problem! Yes the tune is required. You can actually leave the whole system intact as the the tune removes the ability for those codes to cause a check engine light or affect drivability. If you do that then just disconnect the connectors on the air pump, otherwise it will run regardless. The system is still "active" if it's all there with the tune. But allows you to disconnect or remove the equipment if desired.

You have a couple options for uploading the tune after you get it from JustDSM via the HPTuners thread.
-You can purchase the HPTuners yourself with 4 credits and as long as you have a windows laptop you can do the tune yourself pretty easily, for details check out the HPTuners thread or you can PM me for questions. JustDSM can walk you through the steps too. If you choose this route make sure you have a battery charger so the battery doesn't drop too low during the process.

-The other option is take it to a shop that has HPTuners support (most performance shops have HPTuners since it's very popular for LS powered cars) and pay them to do it. They will charge you for the purchase of 4 credits and labor for the time into it. You will have to get your stock tune downloaded and sent to JustDSM, then he will make the adjustments (and if requested to make adjustments for aftermarket intake/exhasut if needed) and send it back. Then it will require a 2nd visit to upload it. He got my tune to me the following morning.

I didn't tag JustDSM since I'm sure he gets bogged down with alerts quite often!!

EDIT: The 2 biggest areas I noticed improvement was throttle being more linear with no dead spots and the transmission performance. Especially going down the interstate. It holds 5th gear better up hills and doesn't seem to "over-react" as bad.

If you get the tuner and send me your tune I can tune out the setup for you as well if @JustDSM is busy. He taught me everything he knows, with the exception of about a million things but this part I know.
