I used all old bolts. Set of wrenches , sockets. Punch and a hammer. Zip ties to hold knuckle up.

Assuming there's no damage to the hardware given to you with the suspension, using them should be fine.

I reused everything from a set that came out of a 3rd gen with 10k miles with no issues. The install was pretty straight forward but I did need an alignment.

Can this be done with a single cab 2012? I imagine it could.

Just about to hit 100k miles and considering doing this swap with the leafs.
Also where are you guys picking these up? Some new from the dealer or getting lucky finding them from guys throwing lifts on their trucks discarding these?

    thanks!!

check out the 3rd gen marketplace here and offerup, Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. No reason to buy from the dealer, that wouldn’t be fiscally feasible or reasonable. Some areas post more 3rd gen suspension take offs like SOCAL, but they’re all over the place because folks go for aftermarket suspensions.

Right on appreciate it, just found the marketplace here, new to the site. Awesome so far really reminds me of the ranger station forums back in the day. Had a 1998 ranger and spent a ton of time online there.

I’ll keep an eye out thanks again.

I know this an old thread but I didn't see anyone with my setup. This sounds too good to be true, full suspensions are selling around me for 100-200.

Will a full 3rd gen off road suspension (coils, shocks, leaf springs, control arms) fit my stock '09 5 lug 2wd access cab?

This will make my day cause my suspension has well over 100k and could be replaced.

Is the whole suspension system just different between 5/6 lug? Is there anything else I can replace to make it fit?

Yes the whole suspension system is different. I did research on this before but I don't quite remember all the info.

Check this out for more info about lifting your 5 lug

I've had 2019 OR suspension be on my 2006 dcsb prerunner for a few weeks now and it's settled to about 1.25" up front and .75" in the rear.

When I turn right into a driveway I get this clunking sound. I've read that this is a common issue but I never had this sound before installing the '19 take offs. Anyone else run into this problem? Is this sound from the new suspension or from the lift?

Did you retorque and check to see if you tighten everything? I had the same issue but found one of the bolts loose.

Just to re ask my previous question does this mod work with 6 lug 2nd gen single cabs? Doubt it’s any different for the shorter wheel base but I’d love to hear if someone else has done this to a 2nd gen single cab.

“If I take an off road suspension off 3rd gen, shocks, springs and leafs would it be a direct bolt on?”

    thanks.

It should work. I think @weeksz upgraded his reg cab with 3rd gen suspension.
