clockspring?loose ground? spiral?

so i drove from NY to Maine and back for vaca. on the way home i went to blast some idiot and nothing.
got home and set off the alarm and horn works for that, the next day she sat there and i tested and it worked again. then this morning for shits and giggles i went and tried it again while driving, nothing again BUTTTTT when i turn left it works. my cruise still works. fuse is fine didnt replace relay but i didnt think thats the issue due to the left turn and it working no airbag light or anything

suggestions?.

 

Your spiral cable is bad.

 

so i need to buy new clockspirng assembly. have you had to do it? if so anyplace good that may not be $200+

oh yeah i know how to replace it. was curious if any luck with aftermarket ones for cruise and steering wheel controlls

Some have had luck on eBay as well.

 

Just got mine delivered this morning. For this kinda stuff my vote is oem.

 

I had to replace mine, not because it was bad but because I changed to a wheel with controls for the stereo and cruise.
I went with OEM.
