Does anybody here run a Softopper with dirt bikes?

I am thinking about getting a softopper to have some extra dry storage. I bought a camper shell recently and love having it on the truck, the only problem is that it’s a hassle to take it off every time I want to go riding. I am thinking of getting a Softopper as a compromise so that I can roll it up to load the dirt bikes. I was just wondering if there’s any issues with this that I’m not aware of. If anybody has pictures that would be great.

    Side note:
Hitch carrier is not really an option because most of the time I have multiple dirt bikes in the bed. And a trailer won’t work because I often tow my teardrop trailer with the dirt bikes in the bed. Thanks!

Softopper is right for you then. I just fold mine no biggie then unfold before riding . Takes like 3 minutes to unfold. If you want to take it out, about the same time too.

I love it. We do a lot of camping . There’s a foam mattress and pillows/ sheets in there all the time. I also sealed the tailgate with rubber pads so no dust gets in . Attached insulation on top so it’s not super hot inside during summer .

I also have a dirt bike and it works perfectly!

But seriously. It's the only reason I got a soft topper. So I could load my it200 and it490 and have the option to lay in the back covered at races!

Yes. I race my 1983 Yamaha it200 and some times I pull out the 1984 Yamaha it490 or the 1975 Yamaha yz125c. Ahrma mid Atlantic series. I Race on a "team" with a few of my buddies.

Two big bikes fit in the back with soft topper folded forward no problem. I usually put a towel over both front tires just so the mud doesn't dirty the inside roof material.

That looks like a blast. I used to race MX, I was planning on racing some enduros/GP this year but all the events in my area got cancelled due to COVID. hopefully next year though.

I can only fit one bike diagonal with the tailgate up due to the topper taking up space at the front of the bed

Reminds me back in the day riding netra enduros with my 85 and 86 IT 200...they were underrated imo. With some tuning they made a good A riders bike.

Nice setup! Are you able to load the dirt bike to the side so 2 bikes would potentially fit? Just making sure the soft topper moves out of the way enough on the sides as I see it's lifted slightly in the middle.
    Thank you in advance!

    Check build thread!
Not a soft topper, but mark me down with the dirtbike + topper combo. Racing endurocross/hare scrambles right now.

Yes, as others have said, my family and our motorcycle/two wheel addiction is the main reason we got a softopper instead of a shell - and it's awesome. A few months back my wife was a bridesmaid in a wedding and she was driving up to the wedding with the other bridesmaids a few days before the wedding. She took my truck up to the wedding with the other bridesmaids and I rode my motorcycle up to the wedding, a quick fold of the topper, and I loaded up my bike and changed in the parking lot. Made it so I got a fun ride into wine country without dealing with "Friday at 3pm" time penalty of Bay area traffic, and we got to drive home together after the wedding.

How much does the topper take up when rolled up in the front? Looking to try and get my bike in with tail gate up due to swing gate.

Thread revival here. I think I want to ditch my hard top for a soft topper for hauling two dirt bikes but also keeping the topper camping style. Anyone have pics with two bikes?
