Bought my first taco (2020 TRD Sport) a couple months ago and with the high traffic city I live in, I wanted to install and front and rear dashcam since I do a lot of interstate driving. I’m looking for some recommendations on dashcams that aren’t too difficult to install and any pros/cons you’ve encountered with their use.

Any specific reason why you prefer BlackVue? And preferred model?

    I personally have a Blackvue DR750S-2CH.
It is cheaper than the DR900 and 1080p is good enough for me. With a 512gb SD card, I can store about 3 weeks of recording.

I have mine hooked up to a Cellink battery, so I get about 20 hours of parking mode.

Blackvue is a premium brand, it has features that other camera do not.

Parking mode with impact, motion and time lapse settings.
Register up to three WiFi connections, when connected to a home network, you can make it so it Auto uploads your recordings.
Gps is active even when there is no power. I think it can be turn off in the settings. So if your car gets stolen, you can track it.
Live View with remote audio, parking mode and impact notifications, cloud upload service, and a couple others.

I also use BlackVue. I have them in all my cars. They work great.

Thank you rainoffire and plim. Much appreciated on the info about your parking mode especially.

    Not for me.
SD cards may be sensitive to excessive heat though.
I haven't had issues with me 512gb yet.

Blackvue is expensive, and the battery is also expensive. It is a really big investment, and is up to you if the feature set is worth it.

No issues in Las Vegas. GPS, 1080p front and rear. Speed, map overlay, adjustable settings for sensitivity.

Blackvue 900 here. Excellent product. I'm in the desert a lot, no problem with heat for mine.

I have 2 Blacksys units. They were cheaper then the Blackvue, just didnt look as sleek as the Blackvue. I have a 1 in my wifes Lexus and the other in my Tacoma. 2 and 3 years old and both still working like it did brand new.

I live in Cali. Often 100+ degrees outside. No issues with the BlackVue products.

I remember this. Didn't she blame you for the collision?

Yeah tried to until I pointed to the camera...then preceded to blame the bag of Chinese food on the front seat.

I just installed a Garmin Dashcam Mini in my Tacoma a few days ago. Easy install with the USB mirror adapter and I am very happy with quality of the video.

Does this have an internal battery to record any bumps while parked?
