There most certainly is. We've been doing it for 30 years. Downey Off Road in Oregon started the trend for Tacoma's in the first generation with dune jumpers but we've done this on fords and jeeps forever.

Yo Man, you happen to remember your hub to fender measurements for front: 650lb coils at 5th notch on 6112 and rear: Icon RXT leaf pack option 3? and was it with any aftermkt weights on the truck? I take it Icon RXT leaf is somewhat same as Dakar HD AFAI (600lb constant weight in bed).
I'm still debating on which notch to go with 650lb coils with the rear sitting at 26" hub>fender on Dakar HD leaf pk + overload leaf. Currently have 1" rake with 700lb coils on 6112 max 6th notch. Only aftermkt weight are the sliders. With 700lb on 4th notch I was at 24" hub>fender. I'm shooting for 5th notch with 650# coils for better ride quality. I don't want too much rake, ideally I would be fine with around 1.5" rake.

Currently how she stands with 8112s 650coils and 8100s and icon RXT option 3. My measurements really didn’t change when I went for 6112 6/5 notch to the new setup. I’m about 23” from hub to fender front and the rear is 1.75”-2” of rake depending what I have in the bed. The rear bumper it self is 200 plus pounds, the front bumper is close to 85-90lb after I added tubes to the SSO offroad bumper. 23” at 5th notch so that would be 2” lift? pretty sure stock hub to fender is 21”.

How much after mkt weight in the front?

If your using 2nd gen 6112s I don’t have much input on measurements. I used 3rd gen 6112s. Max lift for 6112 and 8112 is 2” lift. 650/700 springs can vary your lift.
Look at last post I mentioned weight for the front bumper. The sliders are 140lbs FYI and I just have the trd aluminum skid plate.

I did notch 3/4 with 1/4” spacers on top to minimize the preload. Still stiff but I expected it to be.

How much of the threads are exposed on your 8112's to get your lift with the 650lb coils? I'm trying to figure out if I want to stick with the 600lb springs or step up to the 650's.

this is the driver side and it’s the same exact threads showing on the passenger.

Awesome, thanks! I don't have any weight up front and I'm still torn between the two. I'll likely stick with the 600lb springs until if/when I add some weight up front.

Do you have any extra weight up front with the 650 spring? I am looking into getting a bumper installed and the 600lb spring with my 6112's is not up to the job. I called Bilstein today and they offered the 650lb spring replacement that they offer. I do plan to install this spring.

My question is did you leave the snap ring at the same setting when you installed the 650lb spring to achieve the same ride height you had before weight was added up front? I like where the truck sits now. Setting 4 on one side and 5 on the other. With 115 lbs extra weight up front I want to maintain the same ride height and not nose dive everytime I tap the brakes. Will this be as easy as swapping for the heavier spring, installing the bumper, and still getting the same height? Or will I have to mess with the snap ring too?

I was on 4/5 with 600 then moved to 6/5 with 650lb. I went to max setting so I wouldn’t have to touch the suspension again if I didn’t like the height.

I can say that 650lb spring will give you an extra .5” or so of lift “AT FIRST”. Mine settled months after armor and went offroad.

I experience no nose dive with the 650 spring on the 6112 and 8112.

    good luck.

so is the 1/2” gain after it settled or before. I have 6112 w/600lb on 5/6 and i just bought the 650s to regain some lift after bumper/ winch install. Trying to figure out if i should lower notch to 5/4 or stick with 6/5.

    thanks

That depends on your bumper. My bumper is 60ish lbs. At first it was 2.5” of lift....added sliders 140lbs and a couple of offroading trips it settled To just over a 2” lift.

although this is 8112 with 650 it looked exactly the same with 6112s01EC1BE4-B3F6-4622-9853-890DC0BC0F88.jpg

Looks good, man! Did you end up going with the 650# on 5/6? How's the ride without any weight up front?
