Are you talking about BMX bike or MTN bike? If BMX, you can slide it on the platform with drawers underneath. Which the bike is laying down on it's side. If MTN, you can put it on the rack with fork mount for the bike on top of the topper. Unless you take the wheels off and place them inside including the frame. Or you can get bike rack that can be mounted in the hitch.

If you don't have the topper yet, you can get the bike mount from this member, @Nimble9 so it will work with either softtop or without. Info: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...e-creations-live.660977/page-19#post-23817702

How many of you 3rd gen'ers are running bed stiffeners? I feel like this is something that's been over hyped.

Everything gets over hyped. It’s up to you to decide whether you really need something or just want it anyway. I looked at the tin behind the tail lights that supports the bed walls and figured neither the fiberglass cap or bed is rigid enough on their own or even together to support the loads I carry at times on the roof. It’s one of the least expensive peace of mind mods you can do. Pull a tail light and look at the web from underneath as well then compare that to the strength of the stiffeners and decide for yourself. I know some get the willies thinking about drilling holes so there’s that too.

The bed stiffeners would help for tent and off road. If you don't carry tent or go off road, then you don't need the bed stiffeners.

Its up to you to add them. It's your decision since it's your truck. Not ours.

I thought it might be hype as well until I started noticing alot of movement while going over large roots and such. I also carry multiple kayaks and paddleboards alot. Its realbad with boats and rough roads. I went ahead and installed some for peace of mind if nothing else.

I have not....yet. I just built my own cap and it's a bit heaver than most. The weight is mostly straight down. Honestly, (and I'm a engineering draftsman by trade) I just don't believe the hype..lol

Edit....Now that I think of it, I have a really big frame bolted to each side. Those sides are not going anywhere.

If you start putting weight on top of that 'cap' you will notice a difference. I was thinking it was all hype until I started loading down my 2nd gen.. never had issues with my 1st gen

    Edit... just saying. My experience

I started running bed stiffeners recently. I had plenty of offroad miles with just the shell with zero issues but now that there is a RTT added into the mix I figured it wouldn't hurt to throw a pair of the total chaos stiffeners on.
