33s or 34s or 35s and why

I know there is a bunch of post out there in this topic but would like to get some fresh opinions on running 33/34/35
I truly want 35s I know what it includes cab mount chop or cab mount relocation, pinch welds, inner fender trimming, regear to 5.29. But I still can’t seem to commit to it just yet. I would consider 33s but from what I see sometimes they look tiny on the taco. I would do 34s but I feel like I might as well jump it up to 35s at that point. What would you guys do?

 

Go 33’s and if you need more get more.

 

33's with a mild lift looks perfect on these trucks.

Besides some 35's dont measure 35"s. So you get the weight of a 35...the cost of the tire itself plus what it might take to run that tire...and not any real benefit over a 33" tire that measures a true 33".

Just do your research.

ive had stock, skinny 33s, and now 35s.

the moment I went to 35s I wanted 37s, and still do. More ground clearance, more meat, and it looks better.

 

Should you regear for 33s?

 

Are you running steel armor?

 

The pinch seam is the easy part of the CMC so you might as well do it while you're down there. You'll need to do the CMC if you're wheeling or mashing your 33's regardless. Fender trimming is cake if you can do the CMC yourself. You literally have the cutter out just trim as necessary and zip-tie if you need. If you want to get real fancy you can break out the heat gun or blow torch and mold your liners.

As for re-gear you may want to consider that even w/ 33's. My truck was a bit of a dog when I did 33's and now has its pep back with 4.88's.

What I am saying is: In order to fit the 33's properly you're going to be paying basically the same thing (money and labor) as going to 35's. Just go into it with that mentality and pick what you think is best. The only thing that's really going to weigh on you is your gear ratio -- you're going to have to marry it so re-gear only when you're 100% on which tire size you want to stick with. 33's and 5.29's without a ton of weight sucks I've driven 3 trucks with it and hated every one of them. 35's and 4.88's sucks, too. 34's are the happy medium with both ratios.

I was not willing to tub, but I was willing to do all the other stuff. Plus I think 33s still look small on double cab long bed. Plus if I’m going to cut, might as well cut big. More capability. Hence 35s.

I know. I’m saying that was why 35 was the upper limit for me.

Do what you want, if you think 35s look best, get 35s. Other people’s opinion shouldn’t matter, it’s your truck

 

Im in the same pinch myself. Brand new truck (to me) and deciding whether to go with 285/70/r17 or 315/70/17s

 

315s every single time. No question. If 35s are on your mind, then you dont care about MPG to much. Youve also decided that you are going to gear the truck. SO at this point, go big.

 

cab mout relocation, gears, and cutting required? Along with Adjustable UCA's a requirement?

 

I dont have adjustable UCAs, I have JBA high castor. I also havent relocated my cab mount, just cut it to shit and hit it with a hammer. Same with the pinch weld. I do have 5.29s tho
