    I did 2” out of my flares all around and 2.5 out of the metal, haven’t been offroad with them yet but I’m hoping that’s enough to not destroy my flares entirely

    Depends on how hard you go. I cut about as much as you, at first, but I ended up cutting little more as I wheeled it.

    I stopped the rock crawling adventures after trashing my second driveshaft, but by then I had already been on the 315s.

    I have a 3” lift currently with Spc upper.
    Caster is around 4.5
    I’m looking at 34” tires. Would I still need to trim fenders? if yes would a bump stop help me avoid that?
    Tires would be 285 75 17 Geolander MT

    The tires measure 34.1 according to Yokohama

    For 34s, no trimming the fender. You will probably need a CMC, though.

    Yes I’ll be doing the cmc and pinch weld . But you saying For sure don’t need to trim the fenders with stock bump

    I have the same offset. The 3rd gen has a little more room on the fenders and I don’t rub on 315 on the fender. I can’t say on a 2nd gen but 285 is a much narrower tire. Doubt the fender rubs.

    but I can’t be 100% sure.

    I got a 2nd gen.. my tires are about dead.. so this may be the time for 35s.. but I have stock bumpers

    Do you need a aftermarket Bumper to clear 35’s with finder trim, lift, cmc, and spc bumper?

    I’m also looking to go with 35s on 16s.
    315/75/16 is a 35” or close to it depending on the manufacturer but I’m more concerned about the width of that size rubbing the remote res. on full lock

    Yes 35s on 16s are 315/75r16.

    Was going to go 315/75r16s but decided to get new wheels and the thought of a possible BBK years later and more options on tires I jumped to 17s. which give you 315/70r17 and 35x12.5r17 as options.
