Okay, I was avoiding bootcamp because people were saying it wouldn't run properly, but I'll do it. Windows 10 works?
Last computer that took a dump was on 7, I've got a long road ahead of me i'm sure as i need to send in my new reg, get the software download and the tune pack annnnd get boot camp up n running

 

Ive done boot camp for nearly 3 years of tuning now. It works just fine. There’s others doing it as well.

Missed my Wednesday check in. Anyone see any updates around the web? OVTune seems to be active on the forum but only in the turbo/VF threads at this point.

3000 miles on A61 2.0 non-thx tune now. Everything is good except mountain passes, it shifts up to 5th and 6th at the slightest decrease in load when it shouldn’t then it downshift to 4th way high up in the RPMs and jolts the whole truck then downshifts again at any decrease in load and repeats this constantly. This happens repeatedly while climbing mountain passes at 50+ mph, it’s very annoying. If anyone is familiar with Utah it happens while passing through mountain green, parleys, driving on all summits on I-15 between SLC and Kanab. I guess the only other thing that I find annoying is the tune feels a bit bogged down and slow to respond to the throttle compared to stock A61. This isn’t meant as a complaint, just feed back on what could be improved on future tunes in my opinion. Other than that it’s by far the best tune and runs great on my typical daily commute which is half freeway half city driving.

 

Mat / myself is working on vF Tuner software + boosted applications, along with working with some of our dealers.
Rafael is working on vF tuner file support / 2.0 VF file release, and 2.0 performance/mapswitch etc versions.

 

Try the thx version. 2.0 stock reg thx works great for my A61. Tows like a champ as well.

 

Using ECT makes it hold lower gears better.
Also, S mode in 5th won't allow 6th.
Try ECT first, if you haven't already.

 

I concur, I think you will benefit from the thx file. I don't have mountains like Utah, but I do have lots of rolling hills, many of the roads as steep as yours just not nearly as long. I found a marked improvement going up hill when I switched to the thx file.

The only difference I noticed, is that it would give more throttle at mid-pedal travel, which really helps delay a downshift for those inclines when you seem to be between gears.

 

When you upgraded did you reach out to them or did they contact you?

 

Did Mat ever comment on 2.0 with gear lock with the stumble start hurt anything if we want to run it ????

 

At first he didn't really answer it, just said if u don't like it, switch tunes. Then I feel like after 2.0 final final final final final final came out he recommended not running it. Don't quote me though.

 

The chances of the stumble start file hurting anything is less than 0.001 percent.

However some users noted more than average misfires with it.
And another user *would have you believe* your valves will have irreversible carbon build up in short order using it.

Rather than argue, speculate, etc. Just don't use those files. They were for testing anyway.

And all the previous "final final finals" were actually for testing/feedback.

 

I see a lot of talk about improving the automatic.
What improvements to you see when applying a tune to a manual?
