Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Oh ok, good. Wasnt sure, wasnt even sure the tune flashed correctly ether as USUALLY when you ecu flash any car ever the first start always cranks the engine slightly longer than usual, and it didnt.

 

Maybe you didn't. It's super subtle to get the confirmation you flashed successfully / unsuccessfully.

Have you got the TRD intake flow accelerator? Would be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes (i've got it in my truck). Very cheap mod, the only real difference in the expensive TRD intake...

Is that the 87 tune?

 

reflashed it a couple times, says "completed successfully" turn off ignition, so im just going to assume its right.

 

I have the flow accellerator on mine, the secondary plastic filter removed and a K&N filter. Much better option to the 500 dollar TRD intake that is literally the same thing. Sounds different, thats about it lol.

Im hoping this fixes my fuelcut/rev limiter bounce from 2nd to 3rd at WOT. That was the whole reason im flashing, as im not very keen on losing the gearlock option as that makes the truck tollerable in hill infested areas so its not shifting every 2.7 seconds to maintain fuel economy.

 

In the VFTuner thread Mat said Final 2.0 AT tunes with maps etc should be out by 8/11, or was it 8/14? Lately he’s been pretty good about hitting his dates or close to them.

Running 92 husky octane fuel. Never did try for 94 fuel yet

 

I wanna also get the flow accelerator but never seem to get it anywhere. Where did you purchase yours

That’s good to hear. I’m hoping it will include the FM update and final .pf5 auto files as well. I decided to get off the OV train once 2.0 final is released so the Aug time frame would be good. Anxious to get the performance and tow/haul modes going.
