I’d recommend the 906s I’m running purely because they do sag but they seem to settle. Meaning they’re advertised as 2” but you’ll probably only get 1” after they settle and that’s about where the stock 99 was over other years. And they’re cheap.

I’m trying to stay stock height or no more than an inch over.

As it stands, the truck has Moog complete stock replacement front coilovers and the rear is KYB stock heigh shocks and moog 99 height coils.

So i’m trying to keep this thing raked. High in the rear so when i haul and tow it sits closer to level

Yup, heavier OME, FJ, LandCruiser springs will give you mucho lift, like 4”, so unless you run a lot of constant weight that may be a bit much.

But Tundra front end and LC rear end are super common.

I ran fj springs and it wasn't much over stock

The spring itself is actually shorter than stock

How much height compared to a stock 99 are you looking for and how much weight do you intend to carry regularly? Do you want a lot of travel or is stock travel ish okay with you?

There are a LOT of options for the 3rd Gen 4Runners and imo it doesn’t get any better for an off road / road trip rig. We haven’t found a place we couldn’t go yet, and I like mine way more than any year LandCruiser I’ve ever driven.

I’m running 6112s up front and wanted some LC shocks and coils out back but it’s just way too much lift for me.

I don’t really offroad this rig at all so travel doesn’t matter. I learned I could do some sort of sway bar end link swap and it would yeild me more travel but again, I don’t really need it.

I’m also just using this thing as a daily and never really intended to tow with it since it has 236k on an original clutch :anonymous:

Even if the moog coils i bought, were 99 height when they were new, i’m sure they aren’t now.

Ii’ll unload all my tools out of it one day this week and take some measurements and photos so that we can do some eyeballing.

Yeah, you can put Front 3rd Gen End-links on the rear and rear 2nd Gen end-links on the front or vice versa and it takes some tension of the sway bars. Made a big difference for me.

If you’re daily driving and exploring I’d just keep it simple. OME 906 rear coils, can throw the little trim packer on top of you want that much more lift, but they settle in just at or just below 2”. They sag under heavy weight though. So if you’re constant weigh is 100#, no worries, but if it’s well over I’d bump up to OMEs next heavier spring. Quick google search will tell you, I can’t remember right now if it’s the 890 hit I believe so.

A little rake never hurt anyone. I had a saggy but, if you know what I mean ha.

The only thing left I would definitely do is to weld on a 2” panhard bar spacer to bring your rear axle back to center. It’s the cheapest most effective way rather than some adjustable panhard or whatever else. Took me five minutes and a big hammer.

She’s definitely a little saggy in the booty department:

If you’re serious, you can make an offer lol.

i’d like the rear to be maybe 3/4”-1” taller. I feel like that would help when i’m towing or hauling tools all the time.

What rear coils do you have now? If stock, I’d go OME 906

I'm waiting for a green (like mine) 5-speed to pop up. Next Yota on my radar thought is an 05-06 Tundra. Got a big trip coming up for the wife when she graduates. Taking her whole pacific islander family around the Western US on a big trip. Need more room haha.

OME 906 will fit the bill. Trim packers can help add a hair. They do sag, but they settle into a set amount of sag, if that makes sense. It'll be just under 2" of lift, or in other words, 1" above a typical '99.

For 99-02 i believe the only way to get a manual with the 3.4 was in a sport model (highlander) and they for certain only came in black or the forest green. Options mine does not have, are the 4.30s and elocker. It has everything else. Even the gold badges, towing package, rear climate control, sunroof, etc.

If it was green and had the elocker, i’d never get rid of it. Thats the holy grail right there.

    Yours is a 5 speed?

How many miles on it? Frame rust? Don't do this to me, man haha.
