    Seriously, dont just cover it up with rustoleum. I help run a huge corrosion program and you can clean it up and either go fluid film or add zinc powder to paint....zinc self sacrifices for metals. Don't add aluminum direct either (like a bumper) without a gasket. Steel will self sacrifice for aluminum. Pm me if you want detailed advice.

    That would work but wouldnt last as long. You would have to do that (depending on where u live, salt use, humidity, etc..) every year if not more. Do a good wire brush cleaning and mix zinc powder into a paint (nothing like por15 at this point) and paint it. DO NOT use the miracle make rust dissappear sprays or anything like that.

    Google up noble metals chart.....and you will better understand what metals sacrifice for others. Never-mind....I'll post a chart tomorrow and try to better explain.
