Thought I smelled fuel when I got near my truck in the gym parking lot. Popped the hood noticed nothing, so I checked the underbody and noticed this, not sure what it is... help?

Looks like your transfer case, is the drain bolt tight?

Yup, that's your T-case drain bolt. Get new packing and some new gear oil and change your t-case oil. Clean it up with some brakleen and you'll be right as rain.

Thanks for the reply’s... I didn’t get a good look at it when I first noticed it... actually jacked it up and looked in there, turns out trans pan gasket was leaking and dripping back onto the tcase... got a gasket and filter kit and got her done today, hopefully I am right but I am almost positive no leak in t-case... guoing to switch tcase fluid and see how much is in there, I know it holds 1.1 quarts so I’ll know for sure if it has been leaking or not.
