Why does my wife keep kicking my Tail?!

Okay, here's the deal. My wife and I keep racing every chance we get. She's driving a completely stock 06 4Runner and mine is an 08 with plently of upgrades. Probably not what you were expecting from title but oh well...

Why is she killing me from light to light? First thought is that we're geared differently. From the feel, I'm running slightly lower gears. But dang, if that's the case,why is she killing me off the line too? It doesn't feel like I have any throttle response and as I'm mashing, I see her pulling away. That's just embarrassing......

After 1500 in upgrades (magnaflow, unichip, kn cai), I'm losing to a totally stock soccer mom mobile!

What do you guys suggest?

Oh yeah, this butt kicking was coming before the new wheels and tires.
