As someone who has always had dogs of all types and sizes, I can say that they all have their differences. I always was a "big" dog kind of guy (mainly Huskies and German Sheperds, so not real big, but at least a respectable size), but then we got a few Pomeranians and I don't think I'd ever go back. They are trainable if you put the time in, same as any dog. They are really smart, but they can be stubborn too. They still have the drive to work, they just don't make sleds small enough :) I love my little fluff balls, no shame in that (not implying you were trying to shame me or anything like that). But the main reason I like small dogs: Halloween2018.jpg
Lets see you do that with 8 German Sheperds and keep all of your fingers :D

Do you own all of those dogs?! If you do, god bless. I can’t imagine the amount of hair you vacuum out of your truck on the daily

Yeah, that’s my pack :) 6 Pomeranians, 1 Half Pom 1/2 Pekingese, and an Eskimo. I love dogs, big and small. Usually there aren’t more than 2 at anytime, but they do produce the fur like nobodies business. I have a shop vac dedicated to dog hair.

    I have a Gashole
My ex used to dress her up all the time, the dog thought her clothes were her worldly possessions and did not like it when you took them off. Wonder Woman was her last Halloween before I lost her at 15 1/2. :(
I also had some fun with my first one too. She was a great sport.
She came to work with me everyday. I put cheap mexican blankets over the rear seat of my DCSB so hair would not get everywhere. Worked fine.. just threw them in the wash periodically.

There's a platform secured with a nonspill water bowl (silver) secured to it.
Notice the red cap? That's a water jug secured inside another canister also secured to that platform..
The platform is an inverted milk crate with a hinged plywood lid attached. Within it is emergency supplies for the dog, and other things.

I’d double it up for sure. Vacuuming out an extended cab sucks. Especially a German Shep’ I know this from experience. some creative stuff guys! Got some ideas for storage/critter transport for my bird dog on the first gen.

Just incase this will help anyone looking to do a platform that sits on top of the folded down seats in a double cab, it may help with ideas...

I originally made a template out of cardboard and dry fitted that to get the feel for it. I would highly recommend doing the template as my skills are not good and it was definitely a bit of trial and error. I ended up using some carpet from Lowes, 'under vinyl floor' rubber for the base and a cheap foam mattress topper from Target.

Disclaimer: The measurements in the photo include the carpet wrapped around the edges (I don't have measurement without :() so use them as a guide (my bad)... As you can see the red scribble part is not needed (I've been meaning to cut it off)

Anyone have a good ramp solution?

We ride around with our two pups all the time just on the back seat. I have a Kurgo seat cover that I like a lot. It actually stays in place since our younger husky likes to crawl under seat covers.

Our older girl sometimes has a little trouble climbing up and down and would be really nice to have a foldable ramp or something.

Edit: forgot the most important thing, dog pics!

Lol for a second I thought you meant you went through a Malamute a year XD

I like mosccats idea, that looks super nice, and thanks for the dimensions. I never have passengers other than my pups so I was considering removing the seats all together and building a platform in their place. But doing that I could leave them intact. My biggest problem is getting the pups IN the truck. I have a 90 and 180 pound dog and even putting 3 pallets next to the door they struggle to hop up...was thinking of building a folding ladder that I could stow in the bed when not in use.

    SECONDED!

Oh yes...and the dogs. Big girl on the left makes my 90 pound Boy look tiny XD

I have since removed the double seat and just put the double platform directly on the floor with a support in the footwell, makes it about 6” lower for the dog to jump up on.

I have an idea in my head for a platform without the seats That would incorporate a slide out ramp. It’s too late for me to put it down on paper right now but I’ll scribble something down tomorrow if I can...

Thanks @TA2016, @4x4spiegel @Bcjammerx this is pretty much what I’m thinking of building. With the seats gone this simply sits in place on top of the storage boxes. But I was thinking of making it a box section So you could have a ramp that sits in the box section and can be slid out both or one side...
